On tap at 1st BBF at De Molen. Beer poured a cloudy brown color with a slight off white head. Aroma was very bitter, piney with a slight caramel character. Taste smacks you in the face right away with strong hop bite, along with some fruit notes and a strong alcohol presence.

Hopfiger, sehr eigener Antrunkm scharf. Interessantes experimentelles Bier! 7/12/11/13//13

Draught @ Borefts Beer Festival 2009 - De Molen.
Murky medium brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, alcohol, heavy hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, a bit raw but nice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20091030]

Tasted and tapped at the first, great, Borefts Beer Festival 2009 @ De Molen. Brown colored brew. Hoppy and malty aroma. Flavor is also simcoe hops all along, malty, warming alcohol. Some leftovers, maybe too little filtering? Liked the other IJsbocks better, but still nice.

A Mes rate. Bottle at 1st Borefts Beer Festival.
This out of the three worked the least well. It’s still a decent beer and no doubt the Simoce is adorable but, as with all of them, and this being the worst, it just didn’t feel completely ready. The icing seems to have intesified it a little too much and there is something slightly raw about it. Faint petrol notes come through and a slight soapy hint. It’s not a complete spoiler however, the Simcoe is just too bloody good for that. Enjoyable, but held back a little too much.

On tap at Borefts BF 09. Simcoe as hell. Loved it. Yes, I can see the faults, but I love simcoes so I don’t care.

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival 2009. Hazy ruby red - purple - brown colour. Aroma of sweet malts and hops. Flavour is hoppy, with sweet malts, spices and some grapefruit.

On tap at BBF. Hazy brown body. Nose of caramel and malts. Nice balance of malts and straight up hops. ABV better hidden. Very enjoyable. Amazing how different the three versions are.

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Quite flat in appearance, looks a bit like gravy, there is no head. Simcoe hops are on the nose. Taste is hoppy and alcohol is very well hidden, you would never think that you were drinking such a potent beer. Its strong, sweet and malty but sadly despite some positives its not totally my thing.
