3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
25cl bottle (Shared by Cunningham - Thanks a lot!) Pours dark hazy brown with a reddish hue and almost no head. Malty aroma with caramel and dark dried fruits. Sweet and sugary with well integrated alcohol. A bit like liqueur or port, but with some bitterness. Nice dessert beer. Very drinkable and quite well balanced. Delicious! (2012-08-02)

Dark amber colour with a very smal beige head. Fruity and malty aroma with some alcohol coming through. A very intense fruity sweetness. Round nice texture. Very well hidden alcohol in the flavour. Nice and enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. It pours an unclear, brown to amber body with some offf-white to light beige bubbles on top. Alcohol, maltyness and some grassy, piney hops on the nose. And then some more alcohol. Still, quite pleasant. The flavor is citrusy and piney up front, with a caramel maltyness as a backbone, alcohol all over the way, but it’s really tasteful. Full-bodied and warming, maybe a tad low on carbonation, but it’s a strong, almost oily beer so no points deducted for that. Really lasting finish with a good shot of bitterness to deal with all the sweetness. A bit too much maybe, this one, but still really nice. 111209

On tap at Borefts I. Hazy dark amber beer. Smooth palate, soft with a crisp edge. Semi sweet malt, very slightly porty. Hides the alcohol pretty well - comes over like a 10.0% beer. Sweet beer but not quite one of these ’Liquer Beers’.

[Thanks to fonefan]. Brown colour without head. Malty aroma with red fruits notes, caramelish. Flavour has notes of caramel, brown sugar, grapes and red fruits hints. Malty, dense on palate with a balanced final, vinous, alcoholic and with a decent duration. Carbonation is soft. Body is high. Texture is oily.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a clearish, dusky, garnet-hued body sans head.
Smell: Aromas of toasted, crusty bread, sea salt caramel, pureed fruits, and a big nostril-dialating whiff of alcohol.
Taste: Dark caramel-coated toasted dark bread with a flood of warming sherry and fruity flavors of tartish strawberry and raspberry jams. Pinch of pipe tobacco, dash of spice. Stagnant, coagulated yeast provides some earthiness. The initial sip of sherry coarsens into an astringent solvent alcohol harshness, thwarting the other tastes. Soft, dry, hot finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus, viscous body. Very low carbonation.
Overall: Good enough for a slow, cautious sipper! Boldly alcoholic, I’ll say, but it isn’t exactly easy to simply tuck away nearly 17% alcohol, though it starts to mask as the booze begins to numb the palate.
