ElDesmadre (1473) - Mikołów, POLAND - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle. Dark amber with an unusually small head for a De Molen beer. Aroma is initially US-hops derived citrus and pine needles, after some moments it becomes more Belgian, with orange apricot and good dose of spiciness. Dry, well attenuated taste, quite flavourful. Fruity, spicy, very bitter, with velvety carbonation and a slightly peppery finish. While the alcohol warms the throat, the beer stays rather refreshing. A great saison!

Bottle at Volo. Hoppy saison, with the hops not overpowering but the showcase. Cascade orange citrus taste smooth and prevalent above all. gentle bitterness, this beer can pass as an American pale. Very smooth medium mouthfeel. Decent drinkability.

On tap at Monks, pour is cloudy orange with medium head/lacing. Aromas is nice and hoppy, peach, light malts, and some wood. Taste is wet spicy wood, refreshing lemon hops. Cedar, columbus hops, wheat, citrus. Solid beer that reminded me of a gruit style with extra tropical notes.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a white head. Interesting nose for a saison, much more on the fruity side. Lots of citrus peel, banana, and tropical notes, particularly passionfruit. A touch of straw and perfume with very light spice. The flavor is lightly sweet and also a bit acidic. Some lemon peel, green apple skin, a mild spiciness, some banana sweetness. Light cracker maltiness and some straw and grass on the finish.
