Bottle in Bespin cloud city that I walked to myself up the stairs and Lando Calrissian, the administrator himself, took my coat from me! Massive thanks to Paulo for this 2009 vintage #249 of 600 odd. Black with a decent tan head that quickly dissipates to edgework. Nose carries a big dirty coffee blast, spice, dark roastings, rich malt, chocolate fudge. Taste comprises rich roast, Kopi Loewak pa pang, dark berry fruit, spice, more coffee, chocolate. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation with a light spritz. Solid coffee impy, stands up very well for its age, the booze has mellowed somewhat - still a winner!

Nip bottle shared in London - big thanks to Paul for this whale. Vintage 2009. Pours rich brown with a creamy beige head. Still lots of hearty coffee on the nose, some earth, dark chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with sugary chocolate, brownies, dark malts, mellow bitter earth, mocha. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and silky texture. Very light warmth to finish with milk chocolate, soft roast, earth, baking cocoa. Extremely well rounded and drinkable. Excellent.

Bottle shared at Leightons house. Big thanks to to Paul for the whale bro. Dark caramel brown coloured with a light tan head. Aroma is hot alcohol, caramel and strong earthy coffee and dirt. Plenty of booze on the nose. Flavour is nice rounded vanilla and caramel, smooth, nutty, earthy coffee roast. Hint of lingering dirt. Palate is medium full, moderate carbonation. Lingering dark fruits. Very nice.

Bottled. Pours black in color with a massive tan head. Dark chocolate, some bitter chocolate, roasted coffee and light wooden smokiness in aroma. Quite strong coffee in taste, also some cocoa bitterness is present. Smooth with a strong coffeeish aftertaste.

Bottle. 9.5%. Bottle no. 572. Best before April ’14. Pours a murky dark brown with a khaki head. Strong, sweet aroma; roasted, dark fruits, a bit oxidised. Feels smooth and well-rounded. Flavour is sweetish and roasted, with bitter coffee, dark fruits and a light liquorice note. Light dusty, perfumy note as it warms. More bitter coffee in the finish, a mild alcohol burn and lingering grassy and apple notes. Overall pretty good. 31.07.13.

2011 bottle. Very similar to BBCS, but creamier and smoother massive milk chocolate hit, with burned malts hints of coffee (kopi had faded somewhat) caramel and fudge. A really special beer.
