4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 BeerBaboon (1199) - FINLAND - MAY 20, 2013
Dark beer with light brown head. Plenty of fresh roasted coffee in the aroma and flavour. Reminds me a lot of Struise’s Mocha Bomb although this one is a lot more light in the body department. Roasted malt and lots of great coffee.

Bottle poured dark brown with a monstrous espresso color head.
Smell of burnt sour coffee beans that were left on the bottle of a coffee presses for a week. Taste of dark roast coffee, slight bitterness

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2013 Not in the best light but it appears to pour an opaque black with a huge tan soapy head. Aroma is strong upfront coffee, some roasted malts and cocoa. Flavour consists of dark cocoa, roasted malts mixed with roasted coffee, moderate bitterness, a residual sugar sweetness, and a minor alcohol warming which is quite tame for its abv. Nicely done high abv coffee beer.

Black as night pour, tons of off white frothy head ... aroma of dark chocolate, lots of bitter deep roasted coffee, straight up roasted coffee wow .... taste is very bitter and roasted, with light licorice, lots of roasted coffee flavor, dark chocolate, and some light bitter hop .... finish has lots of lingering bitter coffee flavor .... mouthfeel is medium very drinkable considering the abv which is hidden well and not very acidic ... very good stuff

Clear deep brown with medium beige head. Bit lacing.
Aroma.. one of the most intense coffee that I ever had. Quite roasted malty, chocolate, bit licorice.
Smooth and creamy with quite dry finish.
Bit sweet with medium bittersweetfinish. Very enjoyable. Maybe balance is not the best, thou for that intense coffee aroma, you have to count that other aspects will be dominated

Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a tiny tan head and an aroma of ultra-strong black coffee, salmiac, roasted malts and black chocolate. The taste isn’t sweet or alcoholic as one should expect, it’s a complex micture of coffee, cacao, roastiness, someslightly sweet herbs and syrup. A very nice beer, another gem from de Molen!
