4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2011 on Draft at WLV for Zwanze Day 12. Pours black with a dark brown head. Nose is nice. Earthy, coffee and chocolate. Light sweet malt. Roasted malt and faint vanilla, some alcohol. On tasting, the coffee is quite nice. Lends an earthy chocolate quality that balances the rich malt. Finishes mostly dry with warming. Creamy. Really nice stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enticing aroma of licorice in an inky black pour. Flavour is impressively and surprisingly laid-back for the strength with hints of licorice, coffee, and chocolate in a refreshingly tart wrapping. A sublime brew to be honest.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle filled to nearly the cap pours opaque black with enormous tan head. Nose dark roast coffee, slightly spicy, and hint of green vegetables, but not unpleasant. Taste big bitter coffee and bitter dark chocolate. Roasted malt from mid palate through the finish. Balanced by some sweet malt as well. If you’re going to use kopi coffee, might as well make it big.

Pours pitch black with a huge mocha head. Strong aroma of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, slight liquorice scent as well. Tastes rich but not too sweet with a dry bitterness. Full body, heavily carbonated, and smooth on the palate. Excellent imperial stout overall.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle (dated 18/4/12) poured into pint. Vigorous, thick tan head, opaque mahogany body. Slightly fruity nose hints at the high alcohol, with coffee notes predominating. Very dense, rich flavor of roasted malts, bit of plums? Finish seems to go on forever, malt and coffee. A huge, rich, bold stout.
