Bottle and served in my Iechyd Da snifter: Pours a deep brown with an initial big tan head but that fades quickly and left minimal lacework upon the glassware. The aroma smacks of coffee, roast, toast, chocolate, walnuts, char, and tobacco malt notes along with a moderate helping of grassy and herbal hops. The taste follows suit with dominate coffee overtones supported by sweet and roasted malts. Some noble hop and alpha hop character along with a dash of cavendish pipe tobacco. The mouth feel is lively and ashy, a bit thin but that is expected with the majority of coffee stouts. Overall a very nice brew but an utter waste of a rare coffee just to make a statement. Any solid single origin coffee would have work just as well, perhaps or likely better.

33cl bottle at home from de Molen, Bodegraven. Body is black, head is nearly flat. Nose is coffee liqueur, flavor is mild coffee, grass, caramel, herbs, vegetables. Medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is medium lasting roasty medium bitter, coffee, chocolate, alcohol is totally hidden at the beginning a little bit appears later. Full body, oily texture, nearly flat carbonation. Excellent dessert beer, very easy which is amazing for 11.2% ABV, very unique taste.

330ml bottle. Clear copper color. Tiny size, bubbly head, stays. Stale coffee, roast, hops, nettles, beans in aroma. Beans, coffee, roast, sweetish in taste. Once beans is detected you can’t undetect it! Fuck is it beans or coffee beans? Arghhhhh....

Slubgob (208) - West Hartford, USA - MAR 20, 2015
Bottle (dated 18/4/12) poured into pint. Vigorous, thick tan head, opaque mahogany body. Slightly fruity nose hints at the high alcohol, with coffee notes predominating. Very dense, rich flavor of roasted malts, bit of plums? Finish seems to go on forever, malt and coffee. A huge, rich, bold stout.

GlassBrass440 (207) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 7, 2015
Bottled: 24 Jan 2013. Pours a thin brownish black with absolutely no head. Very complex aroma. Coffee, roasted peppers, chipotle, blueberries, soy sauce. Flavor is a savory chocolate (molé?). A sour twinge. Coffee. Some phenols that border on plasticy, but don’t quite cross that line. Body is thin at first but thickens in the finish along with some residual sweetness.
