The beer is to be produced in 350L every year. Oak chips have been put in 40 year old cognac and then added to the beer.

Special brew made for Jens Ungstrups 40 year old birthday. Name is still provisional, other options were: Fourty, Fat and Finished (suggested by "friends" of Jens) - Fourty, Fit and Firery (Jens’ own version).

Fles gedeeld met rikstar. Totaal geen co2, stroperig dik rood bruin troebel. Aroma heeft wat appeligs. Smaak is zoet, alcohol, iets medicinaals. Te veel vh goede voor mij.

bottle, supplied by the generous tall and bald one himself, opened in 2014. reddish amber with traces of sediment and thin head; aroma of stonefruits, trail mix, strawberry jam; plenty of jam and marmalade flavours, red berries, mellow alcohol, light vinous character suggested by the oak. held up pretty well

Bottle split at Bruce’s, big thanks to Leighton for digging this one up, 08/04/14. Lightly hazed amber with a moderate off white covering/edgeing. Nose is tarte fruit, spice, bitter citric rind, orange peel, caramel, dates. Taste comprises dark fruit rind, prunes, stoned fruits, Xmas cake, spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying booze charged finale. Solid barley wine, plenty of depth and flavour and drinks fairly easily considering the ABV!

Leighton (17461) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2014
Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to Anders for this one. Pours lightly hazy, golden-brown with a foamy, off-white head. The nose has rich bread, some toffee, golden raisins, hints of butter. Big sweet flavor with heavy golden raisins, dates, rich pale bread, white sugar, stewed apples. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich, lightly warming finish, tons of sugary bread, moderate fruits, more golden raisins, pale toffee. Delicious. Extremely decadent and hefty but really damn tasty.

Scopey (11528) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2014
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest-amber brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, malty, brown bread, toast, dirty, caramel, toffee and honeycomb. The taste is toffee, brown sugar, honey, candied citrus peel, nectarine, wood, oily and earth with a dry, warming finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

33 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 05.03.2010
Aroma is sweet with somewhat ripe fruits, sugary notes and caramel. Flavour is really sweet with fruits, shitloads of caramel and some sugary notes. Too sweet and too boozy, just like Bommen & Granaten. A good way to get a diabetes.

(bottle #504 I think; courtesy of Ungstrup - huge thanks!) Pours a dark amber, clear with small floaties and no head. Aroma is surprisingly refined with notes of cognac, oak, rye bread and maybe a tinge of oxydation. Pretty flat, oily texture with a full body and quite a sweet, warming finish. Taste generally follows the nose, is characterised by sweetness with plenty of aroma notes. Smooth and with the alcohol very well masked.
