3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with basically no head. Sweetish and somewhat unclean caramel aroma. Very full-bodied, hardly any carbonation, very sugary caramel with a somewhat unclean and not overly pleasant rubbery edge. Hardly any bitterness. 010509

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear medium dark red brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, fruity - berry, apricot, wood, portwine, alcohol, overriped fruit - berry. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. Nice work Menno but i think some more aged will be good for this beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Entered to celebrate my 12,500th rating. Huge thanks for this beer goes to Menno, I was overwhelmed by having three bottles of this for my birthday and getting to name it - also thanks to the middle man (yespr) for bringing these beers home from Belgium.
A hazy deep red beer with no head. The aroma is quite complex with notes of alcohol, wood, Cognag, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of alcohol combined with medium notes of over ripe fruits, wood, and Cognag. The body is powerful and the mouthfeel very smooth. Great beer, and I believe it is going to get better with age.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ jbrus. Clearish red brown color. Aroma is grainy, has oranges and marmalade in it. Grainy taste, bit dryish, cognac, bit sweet. Quite dry palate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled @ Jbrus’. The aroma is winey, grainy, fruity. Bit on the weak side. Hazy, red coloured beer with no head at all. The taste is quite sweet and fruity (oranges and tangerine), grainy. Quite thick and liquor alike. Reminds of the Utopias, but this one is better and cheaper. Can use some cellaring though. Then it will be the bomb.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle@Home. Thanks Menno. Lovely aroma and flavours that combine great beer and nice cognac together in a balanced way. It would have been a masterpiece if it was only aged a bit (much?) longer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2010 From unlabled bottle @ jbrus’s place, kindly donated by Molenbrouwer. Marmalade in the aroma. Tangerine soaked in brandy. Immensely sweet flavor, but not really sugary sweet, more like malty sweet. Tangerine cake soaked in top class brandy. Flowery notes. Already delicious with strong mountain cheese, but needs a few more years to fully develop. Then I’ll re-rate...
Bottle @ home. Amber color. Dried figs, raisin and cognac in the aroma. Very low on carbon. Malty, almost sugary swwet, with clear notes of cognac, loads and loads of malt, dreid fruit, mango, tangerine and a hint of pepper. Thick and sticky mouthfeel.
