In bottle. Pours an amber colour with very low carbonation and a few large bubbles lacing the rim. Very sweet caramel and barley aromas with alcohol, cognac and oak notes. Similar flavours with upfront sweet barley and treacle. Oily mouth-feel. OK.

Bottle shared with Paul and Lindsey who resuced me from the streets of Utrecht when I couldn’t find the apartment I was supposed to stay at, thanks! Murky amber color, thin tan head. Aroma of butterscotch candy and vanilla. Taste is very sweet caramel candy, too sweet for my taste.

Pours cloudy amber with no head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Bottle @ Konttori, Tampere. Originally rated on 20.3.2010. Super sweet and sugary barley wine with notes of alcohol, malts, oak and vanilla. Way too sweet for my taste.

Fra flaske, dufter sindsygt dejligt ! mørke frugter ... men smager endnu mere sindsygt dejlig... mørke frugter, dadler, egtræ.... rosiner...... eftersmagen er dejlig sød ! ;) ...... en super dejlig øl ..... prøv den ! hehehe

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small off white head. The aroma is wood, oak, sweet malt, bread, sweet caramel, berries and raisins. Lovely! The flavour is bread, sweet fruit, toasted caramel, prunes, raisins, dates and brown sugar. Sweet but the alcohol is well hidden. A very nice beer to enjoy next to the fire place.

Bottle. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is butterscotsch, alcohol, caramel. Flavour is butterscotsch, alcohol, caramel, cloves, pine. Full bodied nice beer.

330ml bottle, vintage 2009, brought back home from Ølbutikken in Copenhagen. Shared with Finn at the greatest tasting of De Molen ales beyond the Article Circle! Near-clear, apricot body. Polished surface. Sweet apricot and plums in aroma and taste with warming alcohol. Impression of sherry. Sweet, slow sipper (Tromsø, 17.11.2010).

Pours a clear brown. Smells of sweet rye. VERY sweet. Aromas of rye and cereals. Also aromas of alcohol, port and sweet brandy. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Long sweet finish. Did mention sweet?
