Bottle @ home thx to joes. Pitch black colour, hardly any head. Smells cork, red wine, oak, alcohol. Tastes almond, bourbon, sweet, wood, roasty, chocolate, vanilla. Full body, soft carbo. Taste is better than the smell. After a few sips some bourbon is noticable in the smell.

Bottled, July 9th 2013, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma is boozy, biscuity malts, chocolate, coffee, lots of wood, hint of leather and smoke, slight peat. In taste sweetness from biscuity malts, quite bitter, bit dry from the smoked notes. Lovely stuff, once again.

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne, bottled 9th July 2013
Black color with small head. Wonderful aroma, with wood-oven baked bread, chocolate, peat, whiskey, roasted nuts, hint of vanilla; powerful and harmonious. Good body strenght, yet the mouthfeel is initially lean, even pungent; very good chocolate flavor, with rising sweetness; it has dynamic veins of leather, peat, liquorice; quite strong bitterness; the final is a good balance of roasted malts, peat and alcohol.
Great beer, showing the famous dark chocolate character that only De Molen can achieve.

Pitch black colour, dark brown foam. Oily character. Low carbonation. Full body. Aroma of roasted malt, some smoke, coffee and bourbon. Very good, but a bit too sweet in my eyes.

Bottle at the room 316 Geddy Lee Who He tasting, Tulip Inn Bodegraven NL, from the De Molen shop, 28/09/13. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is roast malts, dates, sugar, Xmas cake mix, earthy, light cocoa, boozey oak stained notes. Taste comprises roast malt, mineral bite, light booze, liqourice, dark malts, dark fruit, dark toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, roasted finale with a sweet tooth. Decent BA impy, the BA effect was pretty subtle, easy drinking.

Bottled. Pours very dark brown in color with a beige head. A bit of roasted notes, some barrel vanillan notes, sweetish chocolate coffee, some sherry notes as well in aroma. Nice. Red wine barrels, licorice, some coffee and salty licorice notes. A lot of different things here actually. But mostly some bourbon vanilla sweetness and linguering dark chocolate in finish.

Lore (823) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 26, 2013
dark coffe-like appearance with small creamy brown head; very complex aroma of chocolate, vanilla, some caramel, oak barrel, hints of roastedness and liqueur; taste of chocolate, liqueur, syrup, roasted coffee with long lasting bittersweet aftertaste; brilliant imperial stout, as usually from De Molen
