33cl bottle at home. Pale reddish brown with no head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Very present sourness with some fruity sweetness. Apple, cherry, tart, vinegar and herbs. A nice sour brew, although I liked the regular Lief & Leed a tad more.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours hazy orangish brown, no head. Aroma is sour and a bit musty. This is not as sour as the regular Lief & Leed, and also more bitter. I don’t get the cherries at all. As with the regular Lief & Leed, this would benefit from being a bit more lively.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Top half of the bottle is clear; bottom half (which went into another glass) has more particulate matter. Slightly warmer, richer red than the regular L&L. Very little carbonation. Strong aroma of cherries, not so strongly sour. This doesn’t have anywhere near the punch of the regular L&L; pleasantly fruity-sour, with undertones of cherries, but not jawdclenching. Palate is a bit watery due to lack of carbonation. Still good, but not as special as I’d’ve expected.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy ruby amber colour, no head. Aroma of Brettanomyces, paper, faded cinnamon, hint of the promised cherries, red wine. Aroma is quite sour, acetic, red wine, some funk, sour lemon finish. Light-bodied, no carbonation. I prefer the base beer.
