33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy ruby amber colour, no head. Aroma of Brettanomyces, paper, faded cinnamon, hint of the promised cherries, red wine. Aroma is quite sour, acetic, red wine, some funk, sour lemon finish. Light-bodied, no carbonation. I prefer the base beer.

Bottled 330ml Tnx Edo. Bottled 06/2012. Murky pinky deep red color, no head. Tart cherries in the nose and "cherry stones" with light notes of barnyard. Light bodied. Very tart with mouthwatering cherry flavor. Fruity, although a bit empty finish but very nice kriekish tartness.

Bottle split at JF’s, thanks to Joris for trading me this number, 23/08/13. Hazed dark golden amber with reddish hues and avery little if any head at all. Nose is musty, damp wood, tarte cherries, light smoke, soured berry fruits. Taste comprises dank wood, tarte cherries, straw, light smoke. Medium bodied, dry and tangy fruity tarte finish. Nice sour, fairly simple but tasty.

Bottled from Biernavigatie.nl. Orange/brown colored, almost no head, as flat as a pancake. Acidic and fruity nose, leather, barnyard, kriekenlambic. Quite sour flavor, but quite watery and not really lasting. Thin mouthfeel, no carbonation whatsoever. Feels like a watery imitation of an oude kriek. Since there are so many better examples, i’m afraid i won’t feel the need to drink this more often.

Härliga kirschbär i doften. Ganska vattnig men frisk och fräsch. Bra syra men inte så mycket funk. Doften är ju härlig, den har lite funk

On tap at CBC 2012. Beer in the glass red, a bit brownish. Nice head. Mild-sourish aroma. Starts dry and sourish, modest fruity like cherries. Prickly-dry finish, fruity notes disappear in the background. Dry aftertaste. Okay.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours a clear reddish brown. Sweet with a light bitterness. Yeasty aromas of horse blanket and cheese. Also some aromas of tart berries. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry finish.

Flaske delt med Asle Bjørn og Sigmund: syrlig kirsebæraroma (no surprise there) sammen med litt maltsødme og et aldri så lite humlesnev. Null skum. Mild og behagelig syrlighet, en lett sommerforfriskning, middels munnfylde med vandig ettersmak og det skjer lite mot slutten.

330 ml shared bottlefrom Bierkoning kindly provided by my mother-in-law. Clear orange with no head. Sour cherries, caramel and wood with some chutney tones on the nose. Medium to full bodied. Flat and thick mouth. Mild berry like acidity anda fruity bitterness with no astrngency. Subdued bitterness in the end.

33cl bottle from De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. Pours a cloudy amber-red colored body with a thin, fizzy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is dry, tart cherries with a good amount of wood, a light malty sweetness, some acidity, and a light funk. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened cherries up front before some funk and a good amount of tartness comes in. Woody and slightly acidic before this finishes dry, tart, lightly bitter, and fairly fruity before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Light, smooth body and a somewhat active, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty sour. Fairly straightforward, but dry and balanced with a nice tartness and woody cherry element. Good beer.
