Bov (9424) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 12, 2011
from erzbierschof.ch - pitch black beer with a little dark beige foam left; solid aroma of black chocolate and licorice; fair yet well-integrated woody notes, whisky-like tones, powerful malt backbone wit an intial sweetness soon overwhelmed by a robust bitterness; moderate carbonation; thick and sticky; very long bitter and roasted chocolatey finish with hints of licorice, mocha and strong notes of whisky and wood - a beauty!

From 750ml bottle at Cask Pub & Kitchen on 10 May 2011. My Dutch vocabulary continues to increase with each new De Molen beer I drink. This was absolutely scrumptious. So much so that I was too busy drinking to make more than a cursory note. Almost black. Lots of chocolate. Bourbon influence is fairly subtle. Rich but firm. Distinct bitterness provides a good balance to all that richness. Will have to drink this again and attempt to make some better notes. No great hardship there.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, May 2011. Thanks to Stobbe74 and his secret connection :-). Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Coffee roast, soy , bourbon and dark fruit. Complex nose and flavor. Smooth and slick. Dope.

Scopey (6651) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2011
Bottle at Kernel Brewery, thanks to Evin. It pours darkest brown with a thin brown head. The nose is charcoal, soy, caramel, liquorice and dark chocolate. The taste is caramel, ash, toast, quite fizzy, sesame seed, salted liquorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Another quality Imperial Stout from De Molen, but not my personal favourite.
