4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Czik (10) - Siedlce, POLAND - MAY 22, 2012
On tap in Zly Casy, Prague. I may have not appreaciated it good enough, with something this thick and heavy being my first beer of a really hot and sunny day. Very dark, black colour with an elegant, modestly small and disappearing head. Feels very thick, rich and deep in every way. Large amounts of roasted malts in the taste, chocolate and coffee notes make the alcohol hardly noticable in the taste. Well spent 99 Czech Crowns.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rune (4950) - Tromsø, NORWAY - APR 23, 2012
Guest draft ale at BrewDog Glasgow, one-third pint. Near black with a brownish shade, circular edge of bubbly foam. Very aromatic with dark chocolate malts, alcohol and vanilla sweetness. Delicious and flavoursome with cocoa malts, oak vanilla and anise offset by red orange. Lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Full bodied. Perfect as the dessert after the brewdog pizza (Glasgow, 10.04.2012).
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 McNeillR (76) - SCOTLAND - APR 1, 2012
Chargrilled cocoa notes with a lacey, stain yer shirt for good syrup black body and head tinted Caramac blonde which swathes in darkness with every swirl. Deep stickly molasses initially with a chasm of hops in the crypt dark finish. For the ABV it’s deceptively moreish, a neat dry finish without an expected cough syrup linger. The balance of savoring excellence and bedrock of sturdy Bourbon time served offers a dessert beer sheen really boxes the excellence off. (Brewdog, Glasgow, Keg)
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 claudepaulis (50) - , BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2012
On tap at De Molen (Bodegrave): it has had the time to get a little old. This beer is in the top 5 of the best beer I ever drank.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Svesse (4392) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 14, 2012
(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 9 March 2012) Black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Fruity, malty nose with chocolate truffles, coffee and cocoa. Slightly vinous. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, liquorice, dark berries (blackberries), vanilla and a generous cocoa bitterness in a finish with a warming alcohol edge. Full body with dense, oily mouth-feel. A slight sweetness. Powerful stuff. Lovely beer!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (1078) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 13, 2012
Pitch black, tan head. Cream, roasted malts, tutti frutti. Very full body, smooth and warming without much alcohol. Signature impy from De Molen, I’d say. Big in bitterness and flavourful. (At the De Molen tasting)
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2012
Schokoladenmalziger Beginn mit leichter, gut passender Süße. Röstiger werdend, die Süße bleibt. Später etwas herber, der Alkohol zeigt sich, greift aber nicht aktiv ins geschehen ein. Leicht nussig, vergorene Banane. Sehr gut! 11/13/13/14/12/13
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Papsoe (22985) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2012
Bottle 75 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense light brown head. Sweet and fat vanillaish Bourbon aroma. Solid body, subtle roast, plenty of chocolate, the smooth oaky notes turn into an odd gluey finale the isn’t entirely sophisticated. Ends with roaring alcohol. 280212
