750ml bottle

Bottled on 14.1.2011 - Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood, oak, bourbon and chocolate. Taste of roasted malts with heavy bourbon notes. Hints of wood, oak and chocolate. Strong warming and roasty finish. Perhaps a bit too carbonated and full bodied, alcohol burns through slightly. Otherwise well balanced and tasty barrel aged imperial stout.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black beer with a medium sized tanned bubbly head. Aroma of light bourbon, licorice, slightly roast and toasty. Flavor is very much licorice, little bourbon notes, a bit too old, but still very nice. The sweetness of the licorice is overwhelming and makes it a bit tart. Very lightly carbonated, long sticky sweet aftertaste. Nice stuff.

750ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Bottle #5 of 753. I completely forgot I had this bottle. Pours black with a long lasting nice beige head. Aroma roasted malt, bourbon, oak, vanilla, leather, prunes, lots of barrel character that gets more smooth as it warms up. Flavour is medium bitter and light sweetness. Full bodied, thick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is bourbon, oak and a hint of grapes and prunes.

It’s pitch black with a brown, dense and long lasting head. The aroma is complex with notes of bourbon, vanilla, oak, roasted malt and licorice. The flavor has a light sweetness and a pleasant roasted bitterness and notes of licorice, bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate, it’s really nice. I’m happy I saved this in the cellar - it matured well...

Bottle @ ZZT 9 but I’m not sure who shared it. Black colour with a small light brown head. Smells sweet, roasty, coffee, some alcohol. Tastes roasty, chocolate and bourbon, which is just what I like in a stout. Full body, soft carbo.
