Very small, yellowish head over fully opaque, black-brown beer. Dry USA hops, alcohol & fusels, hop bales, exotic sugars. Bitter, woody main flaovur, with a lot of underlying malty sweetness. Gradually bitter & sweet get in balance, resulting in a fruity (dark grapes, very ripe orange) impressive alcoholbomb. Walnuts retronasal. Warming up, less pleasing liqourice flavour. Very slick, obvious alcoholburn. Syrupy on the lips, bitter aftertaste (with 100 EBU...) Complex, yet balanced beer; despite the toweringly high EBU the bitterness remains on an acceptable level of crudeness.

Süßer, röstmalziger Beginn, sehr harmonisch, dabei sind hopfige Einflüsse erkennbar, die könnten aber stärker sein. Dann süßer, angenehm röstig, wobeiu die Süße etwas zu stark ist. Harmonisch, gut! 12/11/11/13/9/12

[750ml bottle, courtesy of cgarvieuk] Reddish brown pour, decent white head. Alcohol and marzipan on the nose – quite a boozy aroma. Caramel and vanilla flavour. Nice – but quite sweet. Syrupy. Sweet caramel malt, with plenty of booze on the finish [13012012]

In bottle. Pours a very dark ruby colour with a decent, light tan head. Aroma of yeast, caramel, chocolate and roasty malt. Similar flavours with chocolate, roasty malt and caramel. Moderate carbonation and a chewy mouth-feel. Tasty.

(Bottle) Pours cloudy brown with a nougat coloured head. The aroma is super hoppy with notes of strawberry jam, peach, mango and sweet citrus. Plumy esters and light sweet cookie-like malt as well as some alcohol and caramel. The flavour is light sweet, and medium bitter with light acidic ending. Bright, fruity and malty. The mouthfeel is smooth, juicy and chewy. Light carbonation. Near heavily, resinous afterbitterness. Medium (to full) bodied.

75cl bottle shared with friends. Vintage bottle of a couple of years old. Decent white head. Clear amber pour. Nice hoppiness

An almost black colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of hop bitter with fruits and spices. The taste of some chocolate with hop bitters, fruits and spices. The aftertaste of some bitter chocolate with notes of alcohol.

Drunk to celebrate my rating number 21,800. Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, lemons, caramel sauce, and malt. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel sauce, hops, lemons, limes, and malt, leading to a very bitter finish.

Brown color. Very nice aroma, resiny hops. Mellow chocolate flavor, sticky sugars, strong bitterness, resiny hops, warm alcohol, sweet caramel. Well blended. Could work as well as a good American Barley Wine. Excellent, powerful stuff.
