3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Black pour with a frothy, medium-sized head, quickly diminishing. Aroma is resemblant of a baltic porter. Light roast, some smoke, liquorice, light hop-profile and the lightness of a dark lager. Some spices as well. Taste is a little watery and insignificant, but given the low alcohol content, remains impressive nonetheless. Some roast, malty sweetness, smoke and a little sourness as well. Some hops in the finish. Small-medium body, medium carbonation, short-medium duration.

Bottled, 330ml at t’Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Dark brown to black with cream head. Surprisingly quite light and sweetish for it look, there are coffee notes, liquorice and a sharp burnt caramel note leading to bitterness, but all fairly easy on the palate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown color with a big off-white head. Good retention.
The aroma is of caramel, some roasted malts, watercolor paint, licorice and licorice.
The flavor is mildly sweet with a faint tannic tart note. A gentle roasted malt character with some spicy hops, yeast, licorice, watercolor paint and smoke. Caramel and fruit esters. The end is mild with some notes of dry coffee and hops.
Light body, semi-fizzy carbonation.
Quite flavorful considering the low ABV.

bottle from Bierkoning - Thanks a lot! Deep brown colour, creamy beige head. Malty with lots of roasetd malts, shy hints of caramel. Dry palate. Impressive how good this beer is at such a low ABV - strength doesn’t matter...
