Big brown head. Hazy opaque deep dark brown body. Roasty chocolate and earth aroma with coffee notes. Dry roasty earthy taste with metal and soot notes. Thinnish body. Fizzy mouthfeel obscures the flavour. Dry peppery chocolate and earth aftertaste with metal notes. Not bad, but not very impressive, either. (0.75l bottle, Meny Grønland Torg, Oslo.)

Malty smell. Quite dark brown color, but not black. First taste is bitter, rest is mostly malty and a bit sweet. Somewhat bread like aroma. Quite nice, but not super awesome. I definitely could consider this a side food.

Barrelbelly (512) - BELGIUM - MAR 20, 2011
Pours black with some red shine. Large head that stays. Aroma a bit sour combined with roasted malts and some bitter hops. Taste starts smoked/roasted and finished quite rapidly with a bitter aftertaste. Not much of a palate which makes this beer not so interesting.

Bottle courtesy of darkguardian. Talk about a gusher, Holy Toledo. Tons of yeast sediment. Thin, watery, and bitter. Not my thing at all..

hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2011
Bottle (dregs)… Murky brown ale with no head. The aromatics provide understated notes of cocoa, toffee, vanilla and worn leather. Medium-bodied and milky with only trace carbonation. Well-balanced and very flavorful for a small beer – nuances of tree nuts, chocolate and toffee. Finishes fairly crisp and lightly bitter. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

Bottle 330ml at home. Pours almost pitch black with too lively tan head which wouldn’t stop pouring out of the bottle. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, oat. Taste is light sweet, light bitter. Medium body, thin to oily, soft to average carbonation.

Pleasant sour aroma. Taste is very fresh and has chocolate in a way reminiscent of a cocoa drink. A lot of good taste for such a low ammount of alcohol
