Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dark malt, light smoke - peat. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20100916]

Chocolate aroma. Black in color with solid creamy foam head. A bit lighter and thinner then expected. Light roast/chocolate...a bit like guiness, just not thick.

sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 10, 2010
(Bottled) Very dark brown with a small, beige head. Aroma of licorice, charcoal, berries, saltiness. Flavor is roasty and lightly burned, with some licorice, sourness, and black coffee. Light to medium body, a bit watery palate, medium carbonation. Quite good for such a low-ABV, but pretty thin for a stout. 3443

Bottle. Pitch black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with some roasted character and lots of cocoa. The flavour is light roasted with notes of caramel and light hops. Some coffee and chocolate. Roasted finish.

(Draught at Café Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 1 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, dark rye bread and a decent coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Thin body, dry. Very promising aromas, but the taste doesn’t really deliver what expected. Not that it is much different, it’s just less of everything. Enough complaining, it is still a very nice beer ... and highly drinkable.

Bottle from Kent BF 2010. Black with thickish dark beige head. Touch of tar, lots of lovely choc on the aroma. It’s somewhere between a dark mild and a light ABV stout. I do rather like it. It’s like a choccy dark mild from the UK. It has some good bite on the finish as well. it’s a very decent drinkable session beer, that I would be happy to see down the pub.

(Bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori, Tampere)
Deep black colour with an off-white head. Roasted coffee, chocolate and smoke on the nose, very stout-like. Very dry flavor with notes of cocoa. Light bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Dry finish. Not bad for 3,9 % abv.

Tap @ Nederlands Biercafe ‘t Arendsnest. Pours a brown-black body with a big off-white top, spilling over my neat little sample "pint-style" glass at the bar. Aroma is pronounced dark chocolate and roasted malts. Taste reveals some more toast and hints of coffee. Extremely drinkable. For such a low ABV stout, this really packs a lot of punch, it’s an amazing session beer. Mad props and originality points to De Molen for this lovely little creation.
