3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Svesse (4392) - Hässelby, - SEP 7, 2010
(Draught at Café Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 1 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, dark rye bread and a decent coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Thin body, dry. Very promising aromas, but the taste doesn’t really deliver what expected. Not that it is much different, it’s just less of everything. Enough complaining, it is still a very nice beer ... and highly drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boutip (3459) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 11, 2012
Bottle: Poured a light black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt with light dry bitter notes and lightly sweet undertones. Taste is a nice drinkable mix between some roasted malt with light lactose notes and a medium dry finish with light coffee notes. Body is quite light which was to be expected considering the low ABV with some good carbonation. Session-style stout is not a style I usually dig but this was an interesting and very drinkable example.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (4784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 26, 2012
In short: A light dark beer that tastes like a roasted and chocolaty soda-pop!
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed only weeks after receiving it through private importation but already over one year after bottling date!! :(
The look: Partly translucent brown-black body topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose is roasted, a bit of cacao powder, a spiciness resembling minty and black pepper. Taste is burnt malts, Melba Toasts™, Coca-Cola™, mint, cocoa nibs, earth, Dr Pepper™, paper, dry grass. Body is fluffy and never watery. Carbonation is a bit too aggressive and it adds to the soda-pop sensation. Kind of a fun little oddity. And yet another generic black & white generic De Molen label with only text, it must be easy to be the person in charge to make the labels at De Molen, the only person with more free time is this Anonymous dude who spends his entire days posting his stupid opinions on every internet web sites and forums.

Dark brown, close to black, with a low beige head.
Roasted aroma with grass and wood, light taste of coffee, malt, some fruit. Good carbonation, but I think it suffers from the low abv.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black. Small head. Starts mild, almost a bit washy. Gets drier and drier, a bit woody-prickly with a smokey touch. A bit fruity like plums. Finish milder, still modest smokey. Really nice!
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Benzai (2711) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - AUG 30, 2011
Bottle @ Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Black color, beige head. Smell and taste much more fruity then I had expected! Hops, grassy, roasted malts, bitter and a little bit coffee in both smell and taste. Very nicely done considering it’s under 4%ABV.
