Pours hazy amber-red with gigantic exploiding off-white head. Immediately I am engulfed by aromas of Belgian yeast, very fruity, oranges and pineapple. Tasting reveals more sweet fruits, pineapple, honey, some spice. Medium body, high carbonation. Lovely t(r)ipple, not sure what’s supposed to be English about it though.

Bottle from De Molen. Poured a cloudy medium brown with a long-lasting thin white head. The aroma is caramel treacle toffee alcohol. The flavour is medium bitter sweet with a rich sweet malt alcoholic palate and a smooth short bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.

Bottle 0.33l. Pours red to brown with a steady creamy beige head. Strong carbonation. Aroma is caramel, bread, yeast with basement. Taste is light sweet, light to medium bitter, caramel, roasted malt, earthy. Aftertaste is quite bitter, slightly sour. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Good.

Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11 Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it. Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops. Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours. Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it.

Bottle. Muddy bronze beer with a very strong off white head. The aroma is lightly spiced with a good degree of bitterness. The flavour is more like a Belgian beer than an English beer with heavy bitterness, some spice and a good degree of maltiness. Overall a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to brandy glass Yeast, bread, oak, and alcohol Sludgy brown, huge bubbly off white head (probably due to an agitated bottle) which reduces quickly to 2mm. Taste is yeast, caramel, and some light bitter citrus, maybe grapefruit.

Bottle - Boozey caramel, brown sugar and bread. Cloudy copper with a rich big beige head. Tons of caramel and candied sugars, bit of bread and some bitterness. Very nice, especially if you like caramel.

Copper color, opaque, slightly hazy. Great off-white head, huge and longlasting, with a compact looking and a soapy surface. Beautiful head. Malty aromas, to honey, caramel, biscuit and a medicine hint. The mouthfeel presents the same notes: honey, caramel and orangish hops to balance. Good development, medium carbonated and bodied, sweetish and lingering finish, watery to creamy texture. Probably, it is not a great beer, but I liked it a lot. I’ll repeat, for sure.

Reddish-brown, white head and nice visible carbonation. Nose has citrus, lychee, some toast, fruitcake. Something soapy in there as well. Taste is fruity, nice citrus, berries, medium bitter with a tart and long finish. Medium body with above-average carbonation. Overall: nice beer, but the soapy thing doesn’t do it for me. If it had a bit heavier maltyness it would be more balanced. Still enjoyable though, and definately interesting.
