Bottle. Clear deep red pour, thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of grassy and floral hops and some tea leaves. Flavor is a nice balance between strong bitter hops and a nice rich malt base. Thick body and very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours amber, with a solid head that rather quickly recedes to lacing. A very malt accentuated brew, with a good roasted malty aroma. Flavour follows suit with caramel and roasted malts, and good notes of nuts and dark fruits that continues through the finish.

Tap. Clear dark amber/brown body with an average sized white head. Aroma/taste: complex, smokey, leather, sweet, floral aroma with a sweet fruity woody body and a penetrating significant bitter finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Huge offwhite head, slowly diminishing, sticky appearance with pretty lace patterns. Slightly hazy, amber colour. Aroma of herbal hops, caramel, plum, wood, yeast, hint of licorice and a slight tartness. Medium body, lively yet soft carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, before a powerful, resinous hop bitterness takes over. Well balanced overall. Hard to categorize, but pleasant and interesting.

Kaatuu lasiin meripihkan värisenä ja keskikokoisella isokuplaisella vaahdolla. Juoma on kylläkin todella varovasti kaadettu ja toisella, hieman reilummalla kaadolla vaahtoaminen on todella runsasta. Hiilihappoa näyttäisi olevan. Haju on mausteinen, pihkainen, hedelmäinen ja jopa lambicmaisen hapan. Maku on käyneen hedelmäinen, marjainen, havuinen, ruohoinen ja lambicmaisen hapan. Suutuntuma on äärimmäisen pirskahteleva ja hiilihappoisuus peittää muun alleen. Kokonaisuutena mieleen tulee Orval, joskin tämä on hieman huonompi painos. Kuitenkin jollain perverssillä tapaa tämä maistui meikäläiselle.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2011 It starts out tasting sweet, than some sourness kicks in but the bitterness dominates in the lasting finish. The taste is roasty and of dark chocolate. The aroma is sweet and caramel dominates. It has a dark copper colour and a large off-white head that diminishes. I was thoroughly impressed by this brew! (Bottle)

Color ambre. Amarga, lleugera, amb una carbonatació agradable i amb certa retenció d’escuma. Notes de fruits secs en boca. Final sec, amarg, llarg i agradable. De fàcil beure. Per treure la sed.

Dark ruby brew, fruity aroma. Carbonation under control. Complex. Rather sour, cherries, rhubarb. Does not fit into standard categories. Vinous. Ends up bittersweet, there are strong hop elements dancing around a body that has plenty malt sweetness. Fine, but one bottle is enough at a time.

Dark ruby/browny with a huge white/beige foam head that never fall. Nose is typically English (specific hop? or malts that are used for that brew?) but some off-flavours can be noted such as burnt grain. In mouth: too much foam, malt dominates, but a cap’s metallic taste spoil the malty profile then bitterness surrounds everything in aftertaste.

Dark copper pour with a white lid. Strong aromas of alcohol, caramel, citrus, floral, hops and malt. Its bitter and a little sweet from the caramel. The alcohol feel is quite strong. Its creamy and the citrus can be tasted almost in isolation at times. There’s a lot going on and the flavour profile varies almost each sip. Medium carbonation.
