Douberd (2955) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - DEC 18, 2013
Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11 Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it. Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops. Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours. Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy dark amber-brown beer pours with a huge foamy head. It has pineapple and peppery hop flavours, almond and toffee notes with a slight sugary sweet, extremely dry and tart finish.

Ober (2812) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2011
A little hazy, dark amber colored beer, with a light beige foamy head. The aroma of fruits, malts and a little bitter. The taste of hop bitter, fruits with caramel and notes of spices. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweet.

Slightly chilled bottle. Two years and one day old. Dark orange/red with the usual huge head which endures. Smell - old ale, caramel, yeast, molasses, tangerine. Carbonation - mid to soft. Taste - typical De Molen caramel, liquorice, sweet honey flavours with a decent dose of bitterness. Enjoyable high quality beer. Not quite to my taste though, which reduces the rating slightly.

Yeasty and lively beer with a body of caramalt and bitter hops. Bit grassy and dry palate. Like a yeasty saison.

From a 33 cl bottle. Nice amber clear beer with a big lacy offwhite/beige head. Malty, sweet, fruity, hoppy aroma. Roasted, malty, alcohol flavour with some metallic notes. Not De Molens best beer.

maekchu (2535) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 22, 2013
Bottle. Yeast, sweet dark fruit, and some fumes. Dark coppery brown, 1-2 finger tan head, good lace. Sugary, some dried dark fruit sweetness. A bit of carb burn in mid palate. Final settles out into a dry bitterness. Medium body. Okay. Not sooo interesting, really. A disappointment from this brewery.
