0.33l bottle. What a head! Probably the biggest head Iíve ever seen on a beer. It also has a near murky dark nutty-red-brownish body, but the gigantic, everlasting and fluffy beige head really made my day! The aroma is filled with balsamic and dark wood-tones mixed with some sweet caramel wrapped in Belgian yeast. Not horrible at all. After waiting some minutes the head has come down to a reasonable level and itís possible to have a sip. Lively carbonation, medium-bodied with a light oily mouthfeel. Flavors are quite weird with lots of leather and licorice. Not the normal kind of licorice but more like sipping on the licorice-root itself. Lots of wood blended with something tart and yeasty. Bitter and herbal finish with hints of cocoa in the aftertaste. Weird stuff, but I kinda liked it.

Bottle. Dark brown, hazy, average and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel with light fruitiness, some citrus - grassy hoppyness, light alcohol. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and fruitiness, some grassy hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel, some grassy hoppyness, some alcohol. Lightly sweetish strong ale with nice grassy hoppyness - bit too much alcohol in the finish.

Slightly chilled bottle. Two years and one day old. Dark orange/red with the usual huge head which endures. Smell - old ale, caramel, yeast, molasses, tangerine. Carbonation - mid to soft. Taste - typical De Molen caramel, liquorice, sweet honey flavours with a decent dose of bitterness. Enjoyable high quality beer. Not quite to my taste though, which reduces the rating slightly.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy dark amber-brown beer pours with a huge foamy head. It has pineapple and peppery hop flavours, almond and toffee notes with a slight sugary sweet, extremely dry and tart finish.

Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11 Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it. Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops. Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours. Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it.

33 cl bottle from Vika Vinmonopol. Muddy, murky orange with a gelatinous, beige head, three fingers thick. Good lacing. Caramel malty and floral nose with hints of old wooden cupboard. Full bodied and boozy, bitter and biscuit sweet. Grows a little in the mouth with a thick, foamy mouth feel. Long and pleasantly bitter finish.
