(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, marzipan, wild berries and apricots. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, wild berries, marzipan, candy sugar and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, slightly sweet. Tasty and very nice.

330ml bottle (BB Brevinga, Riga)
Initially a very earthy aroma, quite like bramlin cross, later, however, after it’s settled in the glass, it’s quite sweet. Has some pungent hoppy hints too. Lovely in the mouth, a great bite and gentle tingle from hoth the hops and the carbonation. Nicely attenuatated. Quite green and fresh hops in the taste, delicious roasted grains, very bready, but not sweet. Love that finish. So crisp and a great noble hop bite. No sign of 7.5% - classic de Molen!

Bottle from De Molen online shop. Dark bold amber body with fluffly head. Nose is sweet, caramel. Taste is hoppy, dark roasty malts, sugar bursts. Some bitter and sweet in the finish. Quite an enjoyable little ale!

Pours deep hazy gold into a tulip. Off-white head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sour tropical fruit aromas. Sweet dry caramel with nutty toast and hay in the middle and a lasting bitter earth finish.

Reddish-brown, white head and nice visible carbonation. Nose has citrus, lychee, some toast, fruitcake. Something soapy in there as well. Taste is fruity, nice citrus, berries, medium bitter with a tart and long finish. Medium body with above-average carbonation. Overall: nice beer, but the soapy thing doesn’t do it for me. If it had a bit heavier maltyness it would be more balanced. Still enjoyable though, and definately interesting.

Bottle - Boozey caramel, brown sugar and bread. Cloudy copper with a rich big beige head. Tons of caramel and candied sugars, bit of bread and some bitterness. Very nice, especially if you like caramel.

Bottle. Muddy bronze beer with a very strong off white head. The aroma is lightly spiced with a good degree of bitterness. The flavour is more like a Belgian beer than an English beer with heavy bitterness, some spice and a good degree of maltiness. Overall a good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 330 ml, into a snifter, ABV 7.5%, bottled on 22/7/11 Deep red to light amber colour on the body, with a tall off white and froathy head. Very good retention nevertheless, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Body is clear with good activity in it. Aroma is quite malty, with caramel, light roasted malts, nicely hopped with noble hops. Very nice taste, sweet, with caramel and toffee, light hoppy, with the alcohol being quite obvious and enhancing the flavours. Medium thick body, nice carbonation with a bite on the tongue. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very nice take on the style, really enjoyed it.

On tap at Monks Café, pours orange brown with medium sized head. Aromas and flavors are caramel and sweet malting, light honey, yeast, and hops. Finishes with hop and English tasting malts. Lighter to medium in body. Not too bad but got overshadowed by the Bo and Luke.
