Bottle: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, lacy off-white head, moderate caramelly fruity and distinctive hoppy nose; robust bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, pretty soft; dry lingering - with hops sticking to the palate - hoppy finsh, balancing sweet dried fruits and malt in the aftertaste. Very good English Strong Ale, even though brewed in the Netherlands…

Dark ruby brew, fruity aroma. Carbonation under control. Complex. Rather sour, cherries, rhubarb. Does not fit into standard categories. Vinous. Ends up bittersweet, there are strong hop elements dancing around a body that has plenty malt sweetness. Fine, but one bottle is enough at a time.

Tap. Clear dark amber/brown body with an average sized white head. Aroma/taste: complex, smokey, leather, sweet, floral aroma with a sweet fruity woody body and a penetrating significant bitter finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Huge offwhite head, slowly diminishing, sticky appearance with pretty lace patterns. Slightly hazy, amber colour. Aroma of herbal hops, caramel, plum, wood, yeast, hint of licorice and a slight tartness. Medium body, lively yet soft carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, before a powerful, resinous hop bitterness takes over. Well balanced overall. Hard to categorize, but pleasant and interesting.

330ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a large, frothy head. Aroma is alcohol soaked fruitcake and marzipan. Taste has caramel and fruitcake, with apple in the finish and alcohol on the aftertaste.

Sample @ brewery. Pours cloudy murky dark amber with a great beige head leaving lace. Aroma is malty fruity grassy hoppy piny. Flavor is floral sweet malty bubblegum citric piny very bitter. Finishes bitter fruity and slightly sweet.

Draught: @ TBF’11: Small pretty vast white head on top of a ruby-ish dark orange colored beer. Smell malts, oatmeal, raisin, rice. Taste malts, bitters, sweet, toasted malts, darker fruits, raisin, hint of peach. Medium bitter aftertaste. Loe carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture.

Hazy Copper Pour with creamy tan head, Fruity nose with hint of resiny hops. medium creamy body. Semisweet malty front with resiny hops and a mild slightly dry lingering finish. Well balanced and drinkable.

Draught @ TBF ’11. Very sweet beer, bit of a manderine smell to it. Bitter, malty, fresh. Good beer, not extreme.

Cloudy dark amber, beige head. Aroma of hop, spices, some sweetness. Taste is bitter sweet fruity hops, spices. Rather thick body, nice carbo. Well balanced beer.
