UPDATED: DEC 21, 2011 33cl bottle from ABCbeers. thick creamy head. slightly hazy amber pour. Good bitter aftertaste

A dark brown beer with a big, lasting and beige head. Aroma is caramelly and sweet, berries, strawberries, "wet wood", surprisingly "berryjuice" like aroma. Taste is toffeeish and malty, sweet berries, after beginning taste turns into dryer and wooden hoppyness takes place, dark fruits, aftertaste is tight and slightly biting. Medium+ bodied, nice and style like drinkability. Aftertaste isn’t very nice, otherwise, berry, quite unique and interesting beer.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a hazy rust-colored body with a medium off-white head. Nose is toffee and licorice tones, with hints of pine, grass and caramel. Taste is fuzzy, grassy hops up front; then the beer mellows down on the palate with lots of licorice, pine and cough medicinal tones before a finishing off with a tight, near-astringent bitterness. A bit rough, perhaps a bit of cellaring would smoothen things up? Anyway, a pretty decent ESA from De Molen.

Molenbier (33 cl, Embouteillée le 23/06/2011. Une dégustation offerte par rodenbach99) La surprise de la soirée. Une belle robe ambrée et sa mousse durable. Une belle dentelle. Un conditionnement satisfaisant. Un beau nez de caramel et de houblons, une touche fruitée qui provient de la levure? Des saveurs caramélisées qui sont stimulées par des houblons au profil herbeux. Une bonne sensation en bouche. Un corps, des bulles et une texture bien enlignés. Une finale davantage maltée que houblonnée. Simplement agréable.

From a 33 cl bottle. Nice amber clear beer with a big lacy offwhite/beige head. Malty, sweet, fruity, hoppy aroma. Roasted, malty, alcohol flavour with some metallic notes. Not De Molens best beer.

330 ml bottle bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours hazy amber with a big frothy off-white head that clings to the glass and leaves some lacing on it while slowly dissipating. Smell is sweet with sweet fruits like plums and raisins, caramel, alcohol and some hints of peaches and citrus. Taste is malty, bitter and slightly metallic with minerals, resin, dandelions and pine. Finish is dry and very bitter. Weird one this one, not sure what I think…

Fles 33cl Kleur: amber (niet helder) met een enorme gebroken witte schuimkraag. Geur: Zoet, fruit, grapefruit, kruiden Smaak: Voornamelijk kruidig, mout en hop. Ergens is licht zoet fruit proefbaar. De nasmaak is scherp/pittig en blijft lang plakken. Veel koolzuur.

Bottle from Bierkompass. Clear amber/copper beer with a beautiful lasting rich beige head. Malty aroma, bready, some fruit notes, hay, Malty flavor, some alcohol, hay, metal notes, turns rather bitter, spicy notes. Malty finish with spices and some bitterness. I was hoping for a bit more flavors.

Red, amber colored brew. Aroma has fruits, berries, English malts, nuts, some sweetness. Flavor is medium bitter, decent maltbase, some caramel sweetness, fruits and a moderate hoppy aftertaste. Enjoyable brew

Bottle. Dark amber color. Malt, caramel and berries in the aroma. Firm hopbitter flavor with laurel, caramel and berries. A strong earthy aftertaste. Sweetish but powerful.
