benhwilkinson (24), Little Soudley, Shropshire, England Oct 6, 2007 Tap from the brewery: Red/brown in color nice and clear with a thick light brown head. Fruity, slightly nutty and not to sweet. A real mouth full of flavor, with the alcohol content well hidden. I really enjoyed it. Hunsell (398), Amsterdam, Netherlands Sep 30, 2005 Orangered coloured beer, with a large fluffy off-white head. Rich aroma, oranges, berries, malts, herbs, very complex nose. Starts quite sweet, fruity, hops kick in later and stay forever. Full mouthfeel, really good, wellbalanced and strong beer! DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England Nov 28, 2007 Bottle at Microbar, Clapham. Pours cloudy red amber beer. moderate head with bread and yeast notes. Carbonated. Taste is dry with metal, bread and dried fruits all featuring. Moderate dry finish. Really nice. dirkbreedveld (225), Netherlands Jan 21, 2005 I would regard this as a strong belgian ale, like Duvel.
Nice blond beer, with a litlle disappointing head of this young brewery, although the brewer worked for different small companies.
The taste is not everybody’s liking because it is really dry and bitter. It’s rated as the most bitter beer of the Netherlands. In the aftertaste there are hints of yeast and bayleave aswell. jerohen (1482), Bussum, Netherlands Apr 6, 2004 Bit hazy, dark amber coloured, off-white head, stable. I thought spicy, but jbrus convinced me the aroma was herbal. Complex sweet syrupy flavour, herbal and hoppy. Very nice barley wine.
