Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, malt, cognac, caramel, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Papsoe (22985) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2011
Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a hazy amber with no head. Very sweet nose, caramel and overripe fruit - not so much Cognac in the nose. Very solid body, completely flat though. Sweet caramel and honey, vanilla and an oxidized touch. The barrel comes through a little here. Very warming alcohol in the finish. Delicious indeed but perhaps also a little sticky. 230311

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 yngwie (9201) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2010
Bottle, #545/624 18cl, at Patricks. A flat one, hazy and copper colored. No head or bubbles or anything such. The aroma has a solid dose of cognac and wood, rather sweetish, with lots of dried fruits, a good caramel hint, and some hoppy notes. Too sweet on the palate, not as intensely alcoholic as expected judging from the aroma. Oily and full-bodied, a decent bitterness does its best to balance the sweetness. There’s also caramel and dried fruits. The finish is lasting, the alcohol and sweetness sort of coats the mouth, but fur on the teeth is avoided. Wonderful, a bit on the sweet side, but wonderful. Some nuts, dried fruits and a bottle of this on a late Christmas eve would be lovely. 101110
