Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This extremely dark brown beer pours without a head. It has very rich deep red fruity flavours, currants, sherry, chocolate notes and a warming plum fruit finish. Excellent!

330ml bottle - a deep ruby with a very thin white top, a rich aroma of cake fruits, cherries and raisins. A nice oily feel to this, malty in taste with a boozy kick afterwards, nice lingering bitterness. Niiiice. Lives up to its name.

Taste follows the nose, quite viscous ale, strong, alcohol well integrated but still noticeable, warming mouthfell, sweet aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown pour, no head. Heavily malty aroma, plums, raisins, licorice. Taste is exceptionally fruity with sweet dark fruit. Very sweet with only a hint of bitterness in the finish. A bit like a Doppelbock on steroids. Full bodied, alcohol is hidden well. Nice!

Aroma of malts, dark fruits, raisins, plum, chocolate, molasses. Flavour is very sweet, dark fruits, molasses. Sticky mouthfeel, finishes dry. Love the aroma, but the sweetness is a bit too heavy for my taste.
