4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours very dark, with a trim white crown. Smells wonderful: sweet fruit, clean hop, richness. Taste is equally beautiful: fruit compote, raisins, warming alcohol. Superbly drinkable, but crammed with malty berry and hop breath. A seriously good beer, one of the best I’ve ever sampled.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle pours a dark brownish red color with a finger and a half of off-white head that settles down to reveal some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is pleasant with mild roasted grains and light chocolate. Taste is a light roast malt and hop bitterness with some chocolate malty sweetness. Medium to heavy bodied with some decent carbonation and nice clean finish. A very pleasing strong ale with some porter like qualities and highly recommended as what I believe to be a hybrid beer.

Cloudy dark brown beer. Huge light brown head. A lively beer on the pour! Nose is a little coca cola. Soft frothy palate. Creamy frothy malt with a fruity coca cola taste. Palate gets even frothier. Bitterness creeping in towards the finish. Whispers of banana and bubblegum esters. Interesting beer.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, from Strefe Piwa. Drank on train to L’viv. Great name. Opaque nearly black/ brown-black. Tan head. Aroma a tribute to the trappist elders, blooming with rich spice and soothing raisin, stewed prunes, mincemeat, maple, and strong, honeyed malts. Smooth, although would benefit from chewiness. Heady. Chocolate malts and toasty dry finish, as well as an acidic dark chocolate with pleasant fruit pit bitterness. Mature.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 33cl, dark amber beer with good off white head. Nose is very malty on chocolate and caramel with yeast background. Excellent aroma of chocolate, malt, caramel, brown bread, cereals and spices, peppery hops. Licorice and vanilla in the finish, light diacetyl touch, kinf of chili touch, good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark mahogany brown with a huge fluffy beige head that sticks around for ages and leaves tons of sticky lacing.
Aroma is very sweet with lots of candi sugar, chocolate and overripe dark fruits - sugar-coated raisins. Some oak and vanilla mixed in.
The taste has an initial kick that I wasn’t expecting and is tough to place. Definitely some booze, chocolate and dark fruit. There is also a hint of tartness or something, can’t pin it down. Boozy sweet finish.
Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, maybe too much for me, which lends to a lighter feel than I was expecting.
This is an interesting beer with a taste that had a lot going on. Sweet and boozy with some dark fruit and other things thrown in. Tasty though I couldn’t drink more than one.
