Really interesting beer. Pours a dark cola colour with off-white head. Aromas are strawberries, milk chocolate, and a touch of smoke. Sweet berry and chocolate flavours - a stronger finish, almost liquore like, with a touch of burnt sugar. Very interesting, and good!

Thanks for cards04 for this. Dark body with brown head. Aroma of over-ripe strawberries, sweet candy, malts. Taste is sweet and malty. Quite a nice strong ale here.

Bottle 33 cl, bottled 04/08/2011. Pours dark brown in color with a foamy tan head. Sweet aroma with some brown sugar and syrup, some chocolate and roasted malts as well. Some notes of darker fruits and bitter chocolate in taste. Smooth and easy to drink. No sign of the alcohol. Great brew.

33cl bottle, bottled: 13/02/2012. Nearly black, some light coming through though, thin, creamy brown head. Very sweet on the nose, molasses, licorice, roasted malt and wood. Flavor has roasted malt, licorice, oat, hops and light cocoa notes. Finish is long with ash and wood but also some syrapy sweetness. Grows on me the more I drink of it. Medium bodied, making it very easy to drink.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2016

Jan 2013 - 330ml bottled on the 13/02/2012 as ’De Molen Mooi & Meedogenloos’, 10.2%. It’s a dark beer with a large head. Aroma is huge with dense molasses. Can smell it from several feet away. Body is quite thick. Taste is sweet and a little sharp, well rounded, pungent caramel with roasted malts, a little bitter at the end. Big bodied, rich and sweet. The alcohol is completely lost in the flavour. [early rate] (3.9)

Mar 2016 - Same bottling as last time. Now over 4 years old. Black with a huge foamy brown head. Aroma is molasses and blackcurrant jam. Body is light, tingly carbonation, foamy. Taste is still very sweet. Liqueur. Filter coffee mixed with 50% syrup. Perhaps less sweet than a younger bottle but still too much for me. Aging hasn’t improved it. (3.2)

Dark, dark brown with rich light brown foam cap. Light "roasted" sweetness with rich bitter aftertaste. Very vell rich balanced overall taste (I’m not a big fan of dark beers, but like this one really much)
