4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
head: dark beige to light brown , creamy
colour: very dark brown almost black
smell: alcohol, chocolat, candy, burned malts, touch of hops, coffee latte , flowery and grassy , i like !
taste: start is heavy burned malts , hops ( grassy ), yeast and spices/herbs , afterwards comes coffee , black chocolat , anis , texture is surprisingly dry and end is malts , aftertaste is grassy/apples , this is a great beer , but it tends more to a american imp. stout than a belgian strong ale i think ...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. A gusher, black colored, huge (lasting) brown head. Remarkable nose, not sure what is in here, honey perhaps? Also some caramel malts, hops, and licorice. Initially sweet flavor, later on more bitter, soapy and dry finish. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Unusual combination of flavors, seems a bit unbalanced, but on the other hand its unusual combination of flavors may be its charm.
