Bottle as a very kind gift from Menno. Thanks again. Black with big lasting beige head. It really is amazing what Menno can do with malts. The aroma is great, plenty of bready yeast character, and the promise of rich chocolate and vinous notes. It took a bit of double decanting to get rid of the excess carbonation to release all the aromatics and flavours. Smooth and easy drinking in the mouth, lots of bitter dark choc and espresso coffee flavours. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Easy drinking 10% beer as always from De Molen. Cheers Menno.

Dark brown, a nice holding light brown head, sticks good to the glass. Smell of hops, roastiness, some fruits, I think I even get a glimp of banana. Pretty nice smell, complex. Also some sweet caramel comes up. A bit of a weird roasted taste. Some biterness, both from roasting and hops. Some spices and fruits comes up also. Bitter and dry finish. Not bad at all. Sweetness of the caramel makes it good drinkeable.

A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, like raisins, hints of cherries. Malty sweet with some bitter. The taste starts sweet moving to bitter, dry, fruity notes of cherries. There is malt with some spices. The aftertaste a little burny, bitter with sweets.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Very dark brown coloured, presumably hazy, huge tanned fluffy head; mainly sweet dried fruits with roasted malt in the nose, supported by slight traces of tobacco and leather; solid sweet flavour with a delicate bitterness, full bodied, a bit fizzy; slightly lingering, drier leathery and sweet-fruity finish with a distinctive bitterness in the aftertaste. Pretty good.....
