Cloudy dark brown beer. Huge light brown head. A lively beer on the pour! Nose is a little coca cola. Soft frothy palate. Creamy frothy malt with a fruity coca cola taste. Palate gets even frothier. Bitterness creeping in towards the finish. Whispers of banana and bubblegum esters. Interesting beer.

Bottle, from Strefe Piwa. Drank on train to Líviv. Great name. Opaque nearly black/ brown-black. Tan head. Aroma a tribute to the trappist elders, blooming with rich spice and soothing raisin, stewed prunes, mincemeat, maple, and strong, honeyed malts. Smooth, although would benefit from chewiness. Heady. Chocolate malts and toasty dry finish, as well as an acidic dark chocolate with pleasant fruit pit bitterness. Mature.

Bottle 33cl, dark amber beer with good off white head. Nose is very malty on chocolate and caramel with yeast background. Excellent aroma of chocolate, malt, caramel, brown bread, cereals and spices, peppery hops. Licorice and vanilla in the finish, light diacetyl touch, kinf of chili touch, good.

11.2oz bottle. Pours very dark mahogany brown with a huge fluffy beige head that sticks around for ages and leaves tons of sticky lacing. Aroma is very sweet with lots of candi sugar, chocolate and overripe dark fruits - sugar-coated raisins. Some oak and vanilla mixed in. The taste has an initial kick that I wasnít expecting and is tough to place. Definitely some booze, chocolate and dark fruit. There is also a hint of tartness or something, canít pin it down. Boozy sweet finish. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, maybe too much for me, which lends to a lighter feel than I was expecting. This is an interesting beer with a taste that had a lot going on. Sweet and boozy with some dark fruit and other things thrown in. Tasty though I couldnít drink more than one.

11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown color with mahogany highlights. Quite a bit of carbonation creates a large fluffy khaki head. The aroma has a ripe fruity quality, spicy hops, hints of chocolate with a light medicinal quality. The flavor opens sweet and fruity with raisins and dates standing out, some spicy hops, cocoa with a slight medicinal note. The finish has a touch of bitterness that adds another layer. Pretty decent, but I wish the medicinal notes werenít there.

Lordy, what a great beer of amazing dualities! Poured at a good temperature with a grand, foamy, fluffy, billowy, thick, light tan head that lasts and lasts, plus good lacing. Color is a clear mahoganey with plenty of bubble trails. Aroma is a clean blend of malt, caramel, toffee, fruit, and yeast. Flavor is like nose and at first sweet, but then plenty bitter with the carbonic tang enhancing and elevating both the bitter and sweet. I find myself going back to ponder the sweet and then the bittter. Then again the bitter and then the sweet. I canít hardly imagine this beer being better. Body is full, but not too, carbonation is perfect. Finish is like flavor, of average length, very clean, and a hint warming. The only reason I donít give it a better rating in aroma is my snooter doesnít work so well. Fabulous beer.

Bottle. Dark, dark brown, almost bkack with a large micro bubbled tan head. Nose is lightly sweet, cherry cola, chocolate, light hops. Flavor take a downturn, slightly metallic, some cherry skins, lots of carbonation-too much in fact. Gets a little too sweet as it warms and is almost cough syrup like. Darn.

Heel donkerbruin en een mooie volle kraag die lang blijft. Aroma van donkergebrande mout, wat vanille, koffie, drop. Bitterzoete , behoorlijk volle smaak. Lekker complex bier.

Bottle at Brewberry, Paris
Dark brown color, almost black; well carbonated, slow gusher, but the head retention is short. Roasted malt aroma, caramel. Roasted malt flavor, some chocolate and soil, and ashes, with dry mouthfeel. Crossover between Belgian and Stout, clean but roasty; apparent alcohol.
