Appearance- very dark brown, no head at all really, apart from around the edge. Aroma- dark fruits, raisin, dark malt, brown bread notes, cherries, a bit vinous, port. Taste- plenty of booze, vinous, hint of sourness, medium mouthfeel, booze-soaked dark fruits, hints of chocolate and brown sugar, not much carbonation, long finish. Big flavours which come out more as it warms. Nice.

jamesie1857 (1474) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2014
330ml bottle - a deep ruby with a very thin white top, a rich aroma of cake fruits, cherries and raisins. A nice oily feel to this, malty in taste with a boozy kick afterwards, nice lingering bitterness. Niiiice. Lives up to its name.
