Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a frothy long-lasting tan head and lots of lace. The aroma is rich malty and of resin. The flavour is strong bitter with much liqourice and alcohol. The alcohol contributed to the bitterness, but thankfully didn’t burn. There is some oh so slightly sour citrus fruit on the palate too. I liked this beer a whole lot more than I thought I would!

Smak och doft av choklad, malt, humle med toner av karamell och sirap. Söt med tydlig beska. Alkoholen slår igenom lite för mycket.

En av de bedre jeg har smakt fra de molen. Et øl fylt meg lukt og smak. Lettdrukket men samtidig en smaksopplevelse.

Pours a beautiful black beer with a good big head. Couldnt smell much. A bit coffee and choco just like the taste. It had a dry and sticky finish.

33cl bottle. "Mooi & Meedogenloos" refers to the US soap series "The Bold and the Beautiful", but it is likely De Molen preferred a more literal US translation to avoid clashing with the lawyers of these airbrushed muppets. - pours a light and lively, fine-pored translucent dark brown with foamy beige head. Very pleasant fresh nose of both herbal and citric hops with some roast. MF is very light and lively for a beer this heavy, none of the ABV is apparent. great balance between the all-CZ hops imparting unexpected pilsner and fresh fruit bitterness and dark roasted malts, with a distinct licuorice aftertaste. Expected an ImpStout but got something more refreshing and unique, very decent brew that I’d be hard pressed to find a suiting occasion for in the future..

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2013 Pours a cloudy dark Brown brew with a medium beige head with regular retention, aroma is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with caramel, dark fruits, citrics and hints of roaSted malt, flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate sweet, bittersweet finish.

Bottle, dark brown pour with off-white lasting head, musty aroma with hints of coffee, toffee and marmite. Palate is dark and roast treacley, but also a bit cloyingly sweet.

Excellent quad style beer, loads of dark fruit nice medium carbonation, plums candi sugar nuts, caramel and figs. Great.

Bouteille 330ml au St-Bock à Montréal. De couleur brune très foncée et opaque. Nez de sucre bonbon, de pain grillé, moyen de malt rôti, léger de levures fruitées (prunes rouges, notes de raisins) avec des notes de café. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse. Léger goût de levures fruitées (prunes rouges, léger de raisins) avec un léger goût de pain grillé lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de sucre brun, de caramel toffee, léger de chocolat noir et de malt rôti doux puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux avec des notes de café et d’alcool très doux. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux, léger de chocolat noir et de rôti doux avec un goût sucré résiduel ainsi qu’un léger goût de levures fruitées (pelures de prunes) et quelques traces d’alcool. Dark brown tan head big bubbles. Smells of demerara sugar, toffee and barley wine! Smooooooooth. Some coffee bitterness. Really nice.
