330 ml. bottle. Bottled 2/13/12. Pours a thick, lasting, varied bubble beige head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly cloudy dark reddish brown (SRM 20) body....nose is heavy fruity malts, with plum, date, raisin, brown sugar, treacle, hints of spice.....taste is heavy sweet fruits with plum, raisin, date, leading to a harsh bitter, peach pit, spice finish......mouth feel thick, sticky, astringent, alcohol warmth present, carbonation low after the initial exuberance. This falls well into the Abt/Quad piece of the Belgian Dark Strong Ale style. The bitter finish is too harsh and lingers over much. This is probably from a badly handled bottle as neither of the hops used should do this. The net effect is that the flavors are off making for a disappointment in this particular bottle. 0,33 cl bottle. Dark brown beer with small head. Taste like chocolate, bitter from the hops, sweet from the caramel. Top class beer!

Poured from bottle, 13’ vintage, dark brown with quite a bit of floaties and a thin bubbly tan head, aroma is dark fruit and plum with a good amount of chocolate mixed in as well, flavor has a chocolate like front end with some dark fruit in the finish, abv is very well hidden, carbonation is a tad low. Still solid stuff, nice.

Bottle from Bierkompass!
Pours pitch black with a high off-white head. Aroma has lots of chocolate and some dark dried fruits. Taste has strong chocolate, coffee, dried fruits, licorice and lots of plum. Goes into a slight alcoholic warming finish with lots of coffee, chocolate and dark dried fruits. Awesome stuff!!!

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2015 OMG. This is heaven in a bottle. The beer is pitch black. Not dark brown, black. It is so dark, light doesn’t even shine trough. The beer pours a tiny amount of brown foam. The beer is a treat for the eye. Than the smell... The smell is strong and rich. There is fruit, a nice sour aroma, and some spices. there is something that reminds me of ’kruidkoek’, a Dutch cake with various spices. The taste is just as beautiful as the smell. There is perfect harmony between the sweetness, sourness and bitterness. There is some chocolate, wich are responsible for the bittersweetness. The taste is really great. I have no words, try it yourself. The beer tingles your mouth, massages it. Perfection from our beautiful Dutch ground.
