Gorgeous red-purple appearance, far too much toffee-colored head, cognac nose, bitter black currant and brandied cherries in an alcoholic wet dream. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

02/11/2015 @home - 33cl bottle (almost 3 years old) from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte. Dark brown with small tanned head. Aroma is dark roasted matls, caramel. Taste is roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, dried dark fruits and a bit earthy which even gives it hint of of Oud Bruin. Thick oily texture. Definetly a very nice ager.

Paid a steep price of $6.99 at Julio’s Liquors for a 11.2 oz bottle. Date on label reads 12/ 3 /2012. Consumed at cellar temperature. Really black in color, deep brown, thick head and lace. Aroma has a lot of chocolate, bread pudding, raisins.

The flavor shows a substantial chocolate base with a mild yeast presence. With the above mentioned raisins and bread pudding notes. The finish and mouthfeel is smooth with a average carbonation level. ABV is hidden but I would expect that with the age. It’s good but for the money...... I should be more wise.

Clear, very dark brown, light tan froth. Malt and tobacco aroma. Sweetish, malty flavour with good hoppy bitterness. Syrupy, dried fruit. Light mouthfeel considering the flavour and abv. Very drinkable, very nice. More like a quad than BSA?

10.2%ABV. Quadrupple. Tapped out a sinous stout-like black. 40ºSRM. Nose is caramel sweet, dates, honey and burnt sugar. Nose is heavy with a syrupy character to it. Mouthfeel is soapy, syrupy, cloying. There are dates, plums, ume, some smoky, tobacco, leathery like flavors. There are some earthy flavors of ceps, truffles and fungi. Finish is short, bitter and syrupy and molaaaaases all the way to the end.

De color marrón rojiza, con espuma meramente testimonial. Aromas a fruta madura, vino dulce y especias. Oleosa con nada de gas. En boca dulce: azúcar integral y frutos rojos. Alcohol bien integrado, hace presencia en la boca del estómago.

Bottle thanks to RW80 from European Beer Swap. Cheers, Robert! Aroma: Red fruits, some caramel, raisins, quite strong winey feeling, cherry, some maltiness. Appearance: Very low head, dissapearing quickly, color is very dark ruby, some sediment floating around (the bottle didn’t have much time to stay in the fridge). Taste: Cherry, fruity, winey, raisins, medium herbal bitterness, nice delicate alcohol warming, caramel notes, quite sweet but not too much, bit of fruity sourness, plum. Palate: Finish is semi-sweet with alcohol and bitterness, body is full, carbonation is null. Very easy-drinking but you feel the power, very swift. Great beer!
