4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Gorgeous red-purple appearance, far too much toffee-colored head, cognac nose, bitter black currant and brandied cherries in an alcoholic wet dream.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2014 Clear dark brown with quick fading light brown slightly lacing foam head. Aroma is light chocolate, some grass. Taste is wow, can’t believe this is classified as a Belgian Strong Ale. High alcohol, OK, but taste is good. Nice bitter, some coffee notes. (Velp 201408)

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
frothy small light brown head. virtually none lacing. fully diminishing. flat thick dark brown body. aroma: moderate malt, caramel, plum, ruby port, dried fruits, plum jam. if: heavy sweet. ff: heavy sweet light acidic and bitter, salty; long duration. palate: medium full body, oily texture, medium carbonation, metallic heavy alcoholic finish. World class. 280 s

330 mml bottle tasted on 09/07/2014. Dark brown colour with a foamy and dense white head. Aroma is strong with licorice and red fruits. Taste is strong too but well balanced. Licorice of red fruits on the mouth with low carbonation and medium body. Presence of sugar too. Intense beer but well balanced the alcohol and the flavours. Next one please!
