3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 11/23/2013. Pours thick dark brown, nearly black, dense mocha tan head fades to swirl on the surface, decent build-up of lacing. Aroma is chocolate brownie, sweet syrupy fruit, mild roast with gentle bourbon finish, understated. Taste is dark chocolate, rich berry, fruity character, with coffee, hoppy bitter undertones, touch of bourbon in the finish, a bit hot. Thick, creamy body, smooth. Well done.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ borefts. Aroma is deep roasty malt and liquorice, molasses and barrel. Flavour is deep bitter liquorice roast, peaty and iodine notes, some vanilla from the bourbon. Quite alcoholic. Let’s try the bottle in a couple of years.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black colour, tan head. Aroma of soy sauce, barn, vegetables, yeast. Vanilla flavour, soy sauce, paprika, leather. Finish vegetables and light bourbon. Quite disappointing and seems not to be in line with the rest of the ratings here. Wondering what was wrong with my pour.

33cl, at 10.8%Vol, as Moord & Brand ’Bourbon Barrel Aged’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2013, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex sweet Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly alcoholic/fruity, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, top class!, yet expensive!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
27.09.2013, tap @ Borefts:
Completely flat. Aroma is slightly neutral, dark malts, alcohol, oak, licorice, grass, coffee, cough syrup. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, dark malts, oak, licorice, peat, leather, cardboard, dark sugar, grass. Longlasting mild bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough, not the kind of bourbon touch I usually like.
