Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne; bottled May 20th 2014
Dark color, almost black, no head. Syrupy mouthfeel, oily; huge soy sauce flavor, salty liquorice; boozy alcohol.
No matter how I usually like De Molen Imperial Stouts, this one is too clumsy.

Bottle - Dark malts and nice smoky notes. Deep brown with a light brown head. Molasses, dark malts, salt and a sweet pleasant smoke. Sweet, not bitterness and easy drinking. Quite nice.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is complex, with bourbon barrels, vanilla, a little smoke, and booze. Flavour brings out unusual notes of salt, smoke, and light bourbon. Soy sauce notes on the finish which ends up dominating - too much soy sauce. Very strange stuff -- the salt, smoke and soy are somehow fitting. Not overly complex, but a nice slow sipper.

On tap at Plan B, Brewpub Rotterdam, Sunday 15th March 2015 in company of Dad & Barry An absolute beast of a beer, its a mighty big beast. Thick black oily and with a light beige rim. Thick in mouth, really quite bitter, the barrel ageing works wonders. A big beer to have mid afternoon, but I did. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

Aroma: Dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, hint of licorice, slight hint of booze this time, roasted Appearance: Dark brown almost black, very little see through, red glow, brownish beige head, fine foam, dense deck, dissappearing though, medium lace Taste: Not too boozy!!, dark chocolate, liquorice, dark roast coffee, slight hint of booze, nice chocolatty bit dry finish, "well balanced" for a late Molen barrel finish beer!

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2015 33 cl bottle. 10.8% abv version (2014). Black oil with dark brown foam. Heavy and dense aroma of oak casks, bourbon, smoked bacon, coffee, port wine with bitter chocolate, rye bread, leather and balm. Very impressive and powerful taste, warming, old bourbon, porto, sweet coffee and chocolate, light oxidation, oak, leather, hop bitterness, it’s amazing stout!

On tap at Churchkey in Washington, DC. Opaque, near black with with a large tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate and charred oak. Taste of bourbon, roasted malt, sweet chocolate, charred oak, vanilla and raisins. Full body and low carbonization. An impressive imperial stout. It's one weakness is the bourbon is so strong that it keeps the other great flavors from shining as well as they might otherwise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
