Black colour, tan head. Aroma of soy sauce, barn, vegetables, yeast. Vanilla flavour, soy sauce, paprika, leather. Finish vegetables and light bourbon. Quite disappointing and seems not to be in line with the rest of the ratings here. Wondering what was wrong with my pour.

Pours black, no head. Aroma is roasted with bourbon. Tasty, but not extraordinary. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl, at 10.8%Vol, as Moord & Brand ’Bourbon Barrel Aged’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2013, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex sweet Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly alcoholic/fruity, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, top class!, yet expensive!

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 27.09.2013, tap @ Borefts:
Completely flat. Aroma is slightly neutral, dark malts, alcohol, oak, licorice, grass, coffee, cough syrup. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, dark malts, oak, licorice, peat, leather, cardboard, dark sugar, grass. Longlasting mild bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough, not the kind of bourbon touch I usually like.

caesar (5319) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 20, 2013
Bottled, date sept 17 2013, large sample. Dark color, short brown lacing. Aroma of heavy roasted malts, chocolat, biscuit, vanilla, hint of tar and leather as well, some oak wood. Like a big bourbon impy should smell. Very creamy body. Quite some sweetness of vanilla, but also sweet chocolatey malts, fruity bitterness. Wonderful thick palate, a bit boozy perhaps. Seems to be much better from bottle than from tap actually, which was good but not as splendid as it is now. Superior stuff.

Draught at Borefts BeerFest 2013. Black - offwhite head. Sweetness, burned malts, sweet malty body, vanilla, raisins, fruity, coconut, bournbon, rather alcoholic, light brown sugar.

Bottle from Bodegraven. Pours a small dark brown, oily, head that dissipates halfway. Minor carbonation, might improve with ageing. Heavy alcohol and musky barrel aromas. Syrop or port style mouthfeel. Complex mix of dark choc, dark fruits, and a sweet caramel bourbon. Would age well, and score better in 5 years time.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Draught at BBF13. Pours dark brown with a tiny soapy head. Aromas of dark forest fruits, vanilla, oak and slight typical bourbon. Medium body with slight carbonation, bourbon flavours simmering through. - upped with .3 after having tasted the bottled version. Despite the toal lack of carbonation, the bourbon (Wild Turkey?) notes are well in balance with the bae beer. The beer’s texture is quite nice as well.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Mid black with a dirty tan head that dissipates to a swirl and veers edgeward. Nose is roast malt, dark fruits, bitter chocolate, dark toffee, cocoa powder, oaky boozey tang. Taste comprises cocoa, chocolate cake mix, earthy mineral bite, trace of bourbon. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish. Decent enough BA impy but not top draw.

Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 1. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Small pale tan head. Smooth palate, mellow carbonation. Smooth dark malt with a whisper of dark chocolate. Light touch of wood. Tangy fruity bourbon, little spicy. Finishes smooth. Pretty well joined up.
