Bottle from Bodegraven. Pours a small dark brown, oily, head that dissipates halfway. Minor carbonation, might improve with ageing. Heavy alcohol and musky barrel aromas. Syrop or port style mouthfeel. Complex mix of dark choc, dark fruits, and a sweet caramel bourbon. Would age well, and score better in 5 years time.

Bottle @ 10.8% ABV. Thick, viscous, gloopy, black. Big bourbon aromas. Taste is heavy treacle, burnt, roasted, vanilla bourbon. This is a really heavy one, but delicious as always from De Molen... kings of the impy stout.

Served in a 12oz tulip glass at Beer Revolution in Edmonton. Black in color with a light brown head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is bourbon with some chocolate and light roasted grains. Taste is bourbon with a chocolate malty sweetness and a light roasted grain bitterness. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a quality crafted brew that is well balanced and tasty.

Rating #1462 - 11.02.2015 - On tap @sugarbowl Black as an abandoned murder scene that has been torched with kerosene. Aroma is heavy roast malt, espresso, molasses, oak. Taste is heavy on roast malt and coffee flavours, lots of burnt sugar, toffee, bourbon vanilla, blackstrap molasses. A beauteous beer that hits on all of my favourite things. #5whore

Pitch black pour, thick, with a small dark-espresso head that is slow to rise to the surface. The bourbon is predominant in the smell, along with caramel, oak, vanilla, cocoa and alcohol. The taste is a bit overwhelmed by the bourbon, as well, making it a bit unbalanced, but not too bad, in my books. Bourbon, oak, a hint of sour cherries, burnt malt, caramel, vanilla. Thick bodied with almost no carbonation.

0.33 bottle from Hoppiness, Koper, Slovenia. Dark brown to black, small tan head, oily structure. Smoke, barrel, chocolate, licorice, rubber. Heavily wooden and smoked. Alcohol bite, sweet, malty, roasty, very dry finish. Wooden feeling in the finish. Lasting. Complex. Maybe to much smoke character.

Bottle thanks to roulhas! Pours inky black with a surprisingly large dark brown head that is super creamy and long lasting. Aroma is roasty, molasses, bourbon, somewhat burned and a bit smoky. Flavor is heavy roast leaning to burned, molasses a bit of rubber as well. Medium sweet and heavy bitter, light barrel influence overall. Full body and creamy mouthfeel. Bit of heat, but fairly subdued.
