The bourbon, the smoke, the chocolate, all of it blends well in this dark beer. Hints of Worcestershire.

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Black with no head. Nose is huge sweet bourbon, vanilla, oak, hint soy sauce & roast. Taste is sweet bourbon, touch soy & berries, brown sugar, caramel, roasted malts, faint smoke & coffee. Creamy & flat. Nice but I liked the 2 other versions more.

Bottle at a camping in Hungary. Black pour, thick tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, vanilla, leather and slightly spicy peppers. Flavor is thick syrupy bitter malts with a chocolate sweetness. Very nice balance, huge body and very smooth. Great brew.

(10.8% abv bottle). Black body, minimal light brown head, with some uniquely thick lacing. Strongly enticing aroma with chocolate, mocha, caramel, as well as wood, honey and whiskey, sour cherries and vanilla. Full, heavy palate with minimal carbonation. Exceptional bittersweet flavour with dark chocolate, some coffee and peat, vanilla and licorice, all perfectly balanced, with a quite dry finish. Amazing.

Sampled @ Borefts 2014. Pours a pitch black beer with a creamy tanned head on top. Aroma has loads of bourbon, molasses, some oak. Flavor has some vineous characters, some Port, loads of caramel and vanilla in the back. Very dry mouthfeel, it’s almost like drinking a bourbon barrel aged wine. Very nice, strong and full bodied beer. Great stuff going on here! Great ender of another great year of Borefts!
