3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The rhum taste is very pronounced. Together with the dark chocolate, it’s like eating a liquor-praline. Very roasted. Good for a small glass. I tasted this one after the Three Floyds Dark Lord and I like this beer more because it has a longer after-taste and it is easier to drink.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown pour, big fluffy brown head. Odd vegetal notes, weird barrel flavors, some booze, bitter coffee and chocolate.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
33 cl bottle as "De Molen Moord & Brand (Rum Barrel Aged)" (10.8% abv).
Pours jet black color with a large beige head. The rum is very strongly present on the aroma, it practically overwhelms all other aromas almost completely, some minty tones and maybe faint vanilla can be found also.
Flavor is quite intense too, dark roasted malts on the flavor, some grainy notes, cocoa, dark chocolate and some faint honey also.
Very thick oily palate with a bitter malty and a bit dry finish. Alcohol burns at the end a bit, some very heavy stuff this is. Excellent.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle in a field in Hungary. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of rum, leather, licorice, chocolate, molasses, caramel, ripe fruits and a bit alcoholic. Flavor is quite sweet and spicy worth a strong alcoholic warmth and an almost clinical iodine finish. Strange barrel choice, not sure if I really like it. Definitely unique.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl bottle. Pours dark brown, opaque. Oily film on top. Very rich aroma. The rum definitely comes across from the moment the bottle is opened. After the rum, there’s a bit of smoked malt. Flavor is pleasantly unsweet, with hints of leather on the finish. Full, somewhat oily body.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thick dark black, utterly opaque. Oily film instead of a head. Strong nose of rum. Tastes like molasses, with extra burn and rum, plus harsh coffee notes on the finish (almost too harsh). Mouthfeel like watered down molasses.
