750mL bottle, bottled on 4/24/10, #401/431. Poured cola brown with a tall, sticky, well-retained toasted beige head. The aroma picked up a healthy dose of roasty, earthy, nutty coffee with vanilla bean, cocoa, and mocha on the back of the nose.. sweet and somehow soft.. lovely! The flavor found a kiss of tangy coffee bean on the tip of the tongue, with sweeter, roasty coffee and milk chocolate following.. complementary dark fruity yeast on the spicy edges.. lively coffee acidity cut through milky cocoa and coffee roast on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with smooth, rolling carbonation on the palate.. creamy, with nice acidity keeping it from being cloying.. great feel and flow. I tried to think of a reason to not totally love this one, but I failed to find one. Wow!

from erzbierschof.ch - dark black coloured and with a persistent dark beige foam; aroma of pralines, cocoa and mocha; notes of absinth and vanilla; full-bodied and fizzy, some solid sweetness, very bitter; very long lasting bitteraftertaste of mocha, licorice and black chocolate - absolutely gorgeous, the kind of beer I could cry for!

This is an incredibly wonderful beer! Bottle 284/431 - 750 ml bottle at home, served about 10 cl in an oversized wine glass - Pours deep brown with reddish hue, nice firm small light beige head. Aroma is just so intense: green paprica mixed with fresh coffee roast and coffee bitterness of the beans, dark chocolate and stewed plums. Balance is oooow soooo perfect: roastiness perfectly balanced with the sweetness, making one think of a perfect espresso, all countered with a pleasant bitterness, giving it a full body. Flavour is sweet coffee with dark berries, dark chocolate with a tad alcohol burn... makes me think of a decent Irish coffee... Overall: definite HIT! Thank you Menno!!

Bottle at Kent BF Canterbury 2010. Drunk for my birthday on the Thursday night. Choc and coffee is perfectly blended with the beer. I loved sharing it with other people and enjoyed drinking it myself even more. Just wonderful. Intense flavours without being over the top. Really drinkable dark malty beer. Thanks Menno

Bottle 0,75ltr: Opaque black brew with big foamy beige head, with intense bitter taste due the coffeebeans and long bitter aftertaste also in your gullet. Like this coffee stout version 2 very much.

Bitter espresso, chocolate and vanilla notes on the nose. Layered flavors of the same with some caramel and toffee. Mellow bitterness adds to the balance of a great beer.

750 ml bottle, #352 of 431bottled 24 April 2010. Good timing, because I drank the original Mout & Mocca a couple of weeks ago courtesy of daknole, which was made with different coffees and I believe different hops. This one was a gusher, but didn’t hit the ceiling, so actually almost a welcome change from some of Menno’s barrel aged brews that are sometimes under-carbonated. This was just as rich as the original, perhaps better balanced, with a more full mouthfeel. Still has the great chocolate covered malted milk balls dipped in coffee flavor. Clearly a top of the line stout.
