Deep black, small head, intense smell of dark chocolate and coffee, reminds me indeed a lot of the mocca icecream of my childhood. Taste is mocca icecream, finish just a little bitter, leaves chocolate notes. A bit deceived that there are not more nuances. It combined nicely with chocolate eggs, so I might have to taste it again together with one of my wifes fabulous chocolate cakes?

Bottle from the Bierkonig in Amsterdam. Pours black with minimal large bubble head. Aroma is molasses, chocolate cake batter and espresso. First sip is similar but a tad thin. Very little boozy flavors. Finish is dry with coffee flavors.

Bottle from craft beer store Hamburg. Marrone scuro opalescdnte con schiuma beige praticamente assente. Aroma di caffè, tostatura, caramello, malto liquore pane fresco. Gusto dolce abboccato di caramello, amara di caffè. Toni di liquirizia, un poco speziata. Pungente. Molto corposa, retrolfatti va frutta secca. Poco carbonata. Calda. Equilibrata ed armonica.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice, ash, dark fruit and toffee. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of licorice, chocolate, coffee and toffee. Medium to full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Pretty nice.

Un mal lote, imagino. Aroma a verduras cocidas, igual que el sabor. Tendré que volver a probarla próximamente.

uckelman (197) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - FEB 22, 2014
Pours very dark brown, opaque, No head. Aroma is burnt, roasty, and a hint of cacao at first, becoming malty with hints of molasses as it warms. Flavor is mostly bitter and burnt, mellowing as it warms. Medium body, oily texture.

Rich, deep black color. Oily head. Aroma of licorice, with hints of tar and cherry cough syrup. Taste is, not surprisingly, very strong in both malt and the bitterness of coffee. Despite this, the palate is somewhat more syrupy than expected -- or desired. A fantastic beer nonetheless, even if not quite to my taste.

Bottle from Ales By Mail [130214]
Pitch, black, thin rim, no lacing. Aroma of espresso roast coffee, slight tart fruits, lots of coffee, not much else. Taste of rich smooth coffee roast, big fruity coffee, dark fruit malts, chocolate, mellow roasted malts, dab of red wine, alcohol well hidden, not all that complex but very good flavour. Palate has a soft carb, medium body, sweet dark fruity malts with soft bitter coffee roast, very little alcohol. Finish as main flavour. Aroma less interesting than the flavour (mainly just roast coffee), body slightly thin but overall some nice fruity coffee in there.

Hansen (6224) - Assentoft, DENMARK - FEB 8, 2014
Dark brown, and almost clear. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Sweet, roasted aroma, a bit one-dimentional. Flavor is nice, but mainly sweet and roasted. Syrupy texture.
