Bottled (2011). Appearence : pours very dark brown, almost black, very small light brown head. Aroma : washed out mocca, bit a alcohol. Taste : striking cofee, ends in a subtle chocolate balanced with nice bitterness, long lasting in the mouth. Palate : almost no carbonation, medium bodied. Tasted at the end of the meal, in place of the cofee, was very appreciated.

Saw Ferris’ rating and thought "yeah, I’m gonna have me that". Near black pour, finely bubbled light brown head that fades to a 1/2cm layer. Aroma is green coffee beans, quite vegetal, bordering on capsicum and parsley (my wife did not care for the aroma at all). The palate maintains a strong coffee character, but more raw than roasted, with underlying bitter chocolate. Finish is bitter and warming. Others have commented on how well the ABV is hidden but I have to disagree. The alcohol wasn’t intrusive, but it was certainly there; I found this beer to be quite boozy, but in a pleasing way. Not blown away by this one, but still enjoyed it in the end.

Bottle - Dark roast espresso with some chilies and soy sauce. Jet black with a thin brown head. Chocolate with light coffee and a little bit of apricot in the finish. It isn’t as big as I though it would be which is nice. Smells big, big alcohol, but flavors and balanced and not over the top.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle@AGT’13: Vintage 2011: Served in a Chouffe glass: Normal version: Medium sized beige ashy brown ish foamy head that changes very slowly on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer. Aromas of olives, wood, roast, soap, mocha, coffee, malt toast and some chocolate hints. Flavours of chalk, coffee roast, coffee beans, bitters, malt roast, mocha, chocolate, caramel, some sweets but more bitter, light sticky, some toffee, caramel, even some hops, light soap and herbal toast. Afteraste is a mix of coffee, coffee roast, bitters, chocolate, mocha and and cacoa. Low carbo, soft creamy silky mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy texture. Nice and easy, less sweet and more coffee. But not that complex. Fine beer.

Bottle@AGT’13: Vintage 2012: Served in a Chouffe glass: Non Carbo version: Small beige light brown foamy head which changes very slow and leaves a thick lacing on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer. Aromas of vegetables, mocha, porridge, some coffee, some coffee beans, chocolate, cacoa and Flavours of coffee, coffee beans, coffee roast, malt roast, some mocha, some chocate, toffee, chalk, caramel, light cacao and some light wood toast hints. Aftertaste is coffee, coffee roast, malt roast, some bitters, Low carbo, soft creamy silky mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy light oily texture. Very nice but don’t really notice something of the non carbonation, it has enough carbo for me. Very nice.

Pitch black body, small brown head. Very nice peculiar aroma with tobacco, leather, dark coffee, dark chocolate and wood. Full, highly carbonated palate. Very dry, roasted malty flavour with dark chocolate and coffee as well as coffee beans, tobacco, with an underlying bitterness. Exceptional.
