3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A good beer but not much more. It smels like roasted coffee beans and tasts like coffee with mocca. It has Therefore not a strong coffee taste. Maybe a little touch of bitter chocalate. There is not much foam, and the color is pitch black.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Søernes Ølbar. Very dark brown with an orange hue and a low light brown head. Aroma of smooth milky sweet coffee-roast, Wiener Melange style. Rich body, smooth silky mouthfeel, sweet and creamy roast with a medium malty bitterness. Too much alcohol and too sweet to be a real delight.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, thanks Marc! Black colour, brown head. Aroma of cold coffee, coffee residue, ground coffee, chocolate, quite sweet, but also lots of roast. Flavour is medium-sweet, hard roasted malts, hint of cocoa, from then on pure ground coffee beans and coffee residue with a little booze. Too much coffee for me. Medium to full-bodied.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pitch black with a tiny tan head and practically no carbonation. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Tastes of roasted malt, lots of chocolate, dark fruits and a bit of smoke. Very smooth and tasty with a long aftertaste of bitter chocolate and coffee. Body is medium to full (I expected more). Quite good - the lack of carbonation really makes the flavour stand out, and a good flavour is it too - but it’s not mindshatteringly fantastic.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black. Feels like a bullet to the nose, the body carries a lot of oomph here, more than the mustiness you often get from impies. Taste is smooth ash, very high quality tasting coffee, and a bit of berries. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Non carbonated version, so no head. Body is coffee black. Aroma contains roasted and burnt malts, dark chocolate, dark roasted mocca coffee, dough, leather, grape, raisin, a bit of white wine and tawny port, smoke, cola nad fruits I can't define. Flavor starts of light acidic, light sweet and light bitter, then goes to sweet and bitter and finishes in bitter and strong mocca coffee and alcohol. Body is medium, with syrupy texture. I like strong coffee and I like beer but this combination isn't working as I hoped. The beginning is good but less of the coffee would be better. It really kicks in at the end, together with the alcohol. It overpowers the subtle aroma's of the beginning. Too much like coffee, but that should be hot and not enough like beer. Still some points for the first part, though.
