75 cl bottle directly from the brewery. Pours pitch black with a tan head. Roasted aroma with lots of coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco. The flavour comprises pretty much the same as the aroma. Roasted aftertaste. A high-quality Imperial Stout.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with a huge light brown and creamy head. Nose is roasted, coffee notes and dark chocolate. Aroma is on dark malt, alcohol feeling and burning, roasted notes, ash touch, almost no fruit touch. Finish is bitter with intense roasted notes, burnt malt too, less complex than expected.

33 cl bottle, Jan 2012. Dark brown with tan froth. Nose is gummi bears, coffee and chocolate with hints of plum and fig. Sticker on the neck says "non-carbonated" but this does have a slight opening tang. Medium to full body, a bit chalky. The flavors unfold beautifully starting with cafe au lait, earthy dark chocolate and peanut. Gets bitter with espresso, licorice and vodka. Another great coffee brew from these folks.

Vestergaard (379) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - JUN 14, 2012
Tiny brown head. Looks oily and sticky, but is still a little transparent. Smells like soy, caramel malts and a little chocolate. The alcohol is prominent as well. Massive coffee and chocolate. Burned sugar and vanilla comes with the after taste. Well hidden alcohol and typical beer notes in this stout.. Really rustic and mature beer. I like it!

Bottled. Strange nose, huge coffee, herbs, seaweed, soy sauce (more like fish sauce) and manure. Not so enticing. Flavor is better, with interesting fruits, chocolate, coffee, soy and no shit. Great big body, and magician-like ability to hide the big booze. Too much sourness from the coffee beans, though. Nice palate. An interesting beer, but I doubt I would buy another.

330ml bottle, 11.6% abv., from Vinmonopolet Vika. The body is black as the devil. Brownish head quickly reduced to a few patches at the surface. Coffee grounds to the nose. Similar taste of cold, coffee grounds. Sweet bitter finish with integrated alcohol. Ashy dry. A good one, a bit one dimensional, though. I gave the -2011 version an overall score of 4 (hotel room, Oslo, 24.05.2012).

Pours pitch black with a low and tan head. Aroma is coffee with some roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor is very soft, mostly roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Exquisite.

Shared by Ibrew2or3! Pours dark brown and has a great coffee and chocolate aroma. Taste is semi-sweet with more coffee coming through. Medium bodied with a bitter finish. Tasty stuff!

17.05.2012. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Bergen - Valkendorfsgate. Black colour with a thin layered off-white head. Very rich and strong beer with lots of flavours of dry bitter chocolate and Coffee. Body is really rich and there is lots of flavours of dark malts. There is also lots of alcohol that gives this beer a strong body. This is a very good beer!!
