Non carbonated version, so no head. Body is coffee black. Aroma contains roasted and burnt malts, dark chocolate, dark roasted mocca coffee, dough, leather, grape, raisin, a bit of white wine and tawny port, smoke, cola nad fruits I can't define. Flavor starts of light acidic, light sweet and light bitter, then goes to sweet and bitter and finishes in bitter and strong mocca coffee and alcohol. Body is medium, with syrupy texture. I like strong coffee and I like beer but this combination isn't working as I hoped. The beginning is good but less of the coffee would be better. It really kicks in at the end, together with the alcohol. It overpowers the subtle aroma's of the beginning. Too much like coffee, but that should be hot and not enough like beer. Still some points for the first part, though.

Thx! to Kraddel. 01/2012 Vintage – NON-CARBONATED Version. Blackish, dark brown, obviously no head. Smells of burned coffee grounds, very dark chocolate, strongly roasted malts, light ash, strongly burned,… Taste is that of quite bitter coffee grounds, reasonable roast, thick chocolate, mocha, light chocolate milk, some light sweetness coming through in the finish, almost wine-like alcohol, warming, thick mocha, near-hint licorice. Obviously flat. Label says for connoisseurs to regards to this version but I assume that they just had a failed batch and decided to sell it but who cares this is quite lovely.

0,33 l bottle shared with gunnfryd. Brew date 2012. Black body with a small brown head leaving good lacing. Kahlua on the nose. Rich dark chocolate. Sweet, roasted coffee and chocolate, nicely balanced with bitterness. Some acidic tones. Full bodied. smooth to drink and a pleasant aftertaste.

Pours a light black, with a little foam. For a beer with this much alcohol I was expecting a much more full body, but this was slightly on the thin side. Aromas of coffee, a little chocolate, carbonation is there but does not overpower.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of cooked vegetables and dried coffee. Flavors of strong black coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, chicory, light smoke, and again some odd vegetable note.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma of a fresh cup of coffee, a little cocoa, and some medium roasted malt. Flavour brings out strong notes of mocca, medium-heavy roasted malt, a bit of dry cocoa, and mild alcoholic notes. Palate is rather thin for the style, but the flavours are pungent and in good cohesion. Very enjoyable, coffee impie stout.

Dark brown body to the point of being black, thick creamy crown floats on top. First sip is a massive thick coffee syrup with a lingering chalky bitter finish. Not a big fan of the aroma it seems off. Moldy chocolate, possible vegetable soup? both are wrong but that’s all I can think of. Huge coffee, and bakers chocolate finish the aroma. Smooth but a kind of a harsh finish....... ya I said that. Chalky chocolate, almost milky some how. COFFEE!!!! Sigh...I don’t seem to be in the mood for this beer tonight. WHOLLY FUCK THE OIL JUST TIED IT UP 4-4 AFTER BEING DOWN 4-1. Hit a big sweet note of cherry in that sip. The bitter chocooffee lingers for ever in my mouth. I can tell this is an epic beer but I don’t care. HAHAHA 6-4 OILERS!!!!!! Final thoughts....ash, some how very sweet, other things that taste like descriptive stuff. I can tell this beer is great but I just didn’t care tonight.
