Pours a light black, with a little foam. For a beer with this much alcohol I was expecting a much more full body, but this was slightly on the thin side. Aromas of coffee, a little chocolate, carbonation is there but does not overpower.

Mörkast brun i färgen, litet beige skum. Doftar kaffe, kallt kaffe, nymalet kaffe, bitter choklad. Smakar kallt kaffe, rostad malt, grönsaker, avslutar med bitter kaffeton.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of cooked vegetables and dried coffee. Flavors of strong black coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, chicory, light smoke, and again some odd vegetable note.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma of a fresh cup of coffee, a little cocoa, and some medium roasted malt. Flavour brings out strong notes of mocca, medium-heavy roasted malt, a bit of dry cocoa, and mild alcoholic notes. Palate is rather thin for the style, but the flavours are pungent and in good cohesion. Very enjoyable, coffee impie stout.

Dark brown body to the point of being black, thick creamy crown floats on top. First sip is a massive thick coffee syrup with a lingering chalky bitter finish. Not a big fan of the aroma it seems off. Moldy chocolate, possible vegetable soup? both are wrong but that’s all I can think of. Huge coffee, and bakers chocolate finish the aroma. Smooth but a kind of a harsh finish....... ya I said that. Chalky chocolate, almost milky some how. COFFEE!!!! Sigh...I don’t seem to be in the mood for this beer tonight. WHOLLY FUCK THE OIL JUST TIED IT UP 4-4 AFTER BEING DOWN 4-1. Hit a big sweet note of cherry in that sip. The bitter chocooffee lingers for ever in my mouth. I can tell this is an epic beer but I don’t care. HAHAHA 6-4 OILERS!!!!!! Final thoughts....ash, some how very sweet, other things that taste like descriptive stuff. I can tell this beer is great but I just didn’t care tonight.

appearance: Pitch black with bit of mocca colored foam if you give it very quick pour. Loses the head quickly, good lacing. smell: Chocolate, coffee and some kind of sour fruity yeast. taste: Quite a deep coffee and dark chocolate taste which mellow out slighly with some dark dry fruit sweetness. When the sweetness fades the bittering coffee and chocolate return and leaves it lingering on the palette. Surprisingly there’s not much alcohol taste to it considering the high ABV. mouthfeel: Quite mellow and creamy. Not much carbonation. overall: Well balanced and very enjoyable.

330ml bottle (CWAF2013, Sat)
Glassy black, no head. Rich chilli pepper aroma, very sweet and roasted. Nice butter vanilla retronasals. Finish has a bit of coffee. Very sweet, but not sticky or sickly. More stale coffee in aroma later. So rich, but not oppressive. Could be 9% at a stretch, not saying 11.6%.

From bottle at JBT fest. Dark brown black colour, small gold head. Aroma full on coffee, chocolate, sweet and also beefy. Taste is coffee, vanilla creaminess, nice. Bit of bitterness.

It sits innocuously enough in the glass: black with a faintish prickly head that sank into a gibbous moon of film on top of the beer. There is a persistent tingle of carbonation visible, which I don’t ordinarily see in other imperial stouts. This could bode well, or I may be reaching for the bottl of water and some aspirin when I wake up. Jet black colour with hints of coffee and before the glass hits my nose I pick up definite Bordeaux aromas of rich Merlot based wines. A shade closer reveals coffee and rich plum pudding. There is some spice there too: nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. The flavour is strong. The coffee grounds from the bottom of the pot, burnt toast, glace fruits, coffee leftovers and other mayhem. The mouthfeel reveals prickly carbonation that serves to exacerbate the bitterness. This is a bit of a brute and no mistake. Dries on the palate, but stays stomping with heavy boots on the finish. You know you’ve been assaulted by this beer. Whether or not you mind is another thing altogether.

Black colour. Coffee mocca aroma. Taste is mocca chocolate coffee and roasted malts. Finishes slightly bitter.
