3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is smoky and deep roasty malts. Slight mocha and coffee notes. Taste is immediately roasty with coffee bean and a fairly well paired bitterness. Some subtle smokiness. Appearance is black with a beige head that is fairly thin and retains fairly.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle dated 02/09/2011 11.6%abv. Pours an oily viscous dark brown to black, tan head that doesn’t last but a few seconds. Espresso, ripe plums, black cherry, bitter dark chocolate in the aroma. Thin oil mouthfeel, not quite as thick as I was thinking from the pour. Taste is equal to the aroma, espresso and bitter dark chocolate are in the forefront, plums and cherries are in the finish.

4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great, very great beer, because of its complexity and intended -I hope it was intended- weirdness. It’s like an imperial stout mixed with vegetables (sic), peppers, etc. Great coffeish character, which is the main note, designing a weird, crazy and probably unique beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, 11.6%. Sweet and roasted aroma, vinous, alcoholic and bready. Very dark brown colour, seems unclear. The flavour is salty at first, then sour, sweet, alcoholic. I do not like the sourness, it tastes a bit like old rag. Do not know if it is intended.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt and roasted coffee but, first of all, alcohol. Roasty and bitter flavour, with sweet notes of caramel malt and chocolate, and sourish notes of coffee beans. Sourish and boozy aftertaste. Good but not top notch.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep black, small head, intense smell of dark chocolate and coffee, reminds me indeed a lot of the mocca icecream of my childhood.
Taste is mocca icecream, finish just a little bitter, leaves chocolate notes.
A bit deceived that there are not more nuances. It combined nicely with chocolate eggs, so I might have to taste it again together with one of my wifes fabulous chocolate cakes?

Bottle from the Bierkonig in Amsterdam. Pours black with minimal large bubble head. Aroma is molasses, chocolate cake batter and espresso. First sip is similar but a tad thin. Very little boozy flavors. Finish is dry with coffee flavors.
