4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 faroeviking (8805) - HAITI - MAY 20, 2009
First beer on Saturday the 16 of May, the 2nd day of the Copenhagen Beer Fstival 2009. And what a treat to start the day with: Draught. Pitch black colour with a creamy beige head. Roasty malty bit sweet aroma with chocolate and coffee indeed. Great filling mouthfeel. The flavour has roasted malt, lots of chocolate and coffee. Bitter roasty coffee and chocolate long lasting dry finish. YES SIR! A great beer indeed.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KnutAlbert (4613) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 20, 2009
Draught at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Lots of coffee, rather sweet. LAcks body and other elements to cope with the coffee, I feel this is too one-dimensional.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skinnyviking (5712) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2009

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (8638) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2009
Tap @ Ølfestival, Valby, 2009.
Pours deep brownish black with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has powerful cold coffee with a little chocolate. Lightish mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Flavour has a lot of coffee, dark chocolate and is very dry. Some cocoa powder and viniousness. Really a coffee-bomb. No sign of the 9,5 % either.

CBF09. Draught. Frothy lightbrown good mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Heavy malty coffee aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Exstremely burnt coffee notes. Long not pleasent finish. Oily palate.

Draft at KBH Festival, 2009. Pours a pitch black with a creamy brown head and lacings. The coffee profile here is amazing. Cold hard roasted coffee and chocolate. Smooth, slick and phat palate. I love it.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Defreni (1929) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 17, 2009
Fad: Ekstrem chokolade og kaffe. Meget sød men ingen karbonering hvilket ellers kunne have gjort det til en suveræn oplevelse.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAY 13, 2009
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2009 Bottle, straight from the brewer’s warm room. Deep dark brown color, almost opague. Glorious aroma of dark chocolate and freshly milled coffee beans of top quality mocha. Malty sweet, full bodied beer with dark chocolate and very fresh mocha coffee in the flavor. Very low on carbon, but I’d say the dark chocolate and coffee flavors are only enhanced by this lack of carbon.
I’d say: drink young to preserve the brilliant chocolate and coffee flavors.
Re-rate @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. Well carbonated now. Still sweet. Next to the strong coffee notes nutmeg is now clearly noticeable.
