UPDATED: MAY 2, 2010 On tap. Pours black with huge creamy, and very thick, brown head; roasted, and also evidently hoppy, aroma with notes of mocca coffee and hints of licorice; flavor is hard roasted, even burnt, and quite bitter, but also sweet with notes of mocca, bitter dark chocolate and hints of licorice; body is medium with low carbonation.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 TheEpeeist (2817) - Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2010
75 cl bottle. Inky brown with a creamy tan head. Nose is coffee, rich dark chocolate, wood and vanilla; luscious. Thick, silky and coating ending with a lightening zing. Taste is even more massive. I feel like i should be drinking this out of a demitasse. All kinds of coffee going on. Espresso, spicy Sumatran and earthy Kenyan. Overall sweet and malty with chocolate. Finishes with pink grapefruit and licorice. De Molen brews are positively evil. Hot and nasty but totally delicious.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pinball (9656) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 12, 2010
75cl corked bottle.
surprisingly low carbonation, pours clear dark brown, few bubbles no head.
aroma of coffe and roasted grains. faint brown sugar. mostly roasted stuff and coffee.
flavor is coffe, roasted grains, very faint sweet malts, not much hops to balance, the coffe flavor is very good, faint toffee, faint brown sugar.
palate is reasonably thick, but feels thin and watery due to no carbonation.
Overall a nice cofee stout, but with some flaws, amongst them the real low carbonation. Alc. is pretty well hidden i would never suspect 10%

At a tasting, thick medium beige head with some lacing, deep dark brown but not black with some reddish taints, loads of coffee aromas with some herbs, rich melange of coffee flavours with some dark dark chocolate, feels thick and mouth coating. The aftertaste is mellow and just like drinking a capuchino.
